If we had a mayor who wasn't so pathetic this problem would not have happened to start with. During counsil meetings he has constntly let whoever is in attendane just speak up whenever they felt like it. When public comments are over, they are over. After the alloted 3 minuites, that's it!!! If they speak again they should be warned, and after that they are supposed to be dismissed from chambers. But he just lets these people speak whenever they feel like it. That is 1 reason why some decent people in the town won't run for counsil. They are constantly second guessed by a few "know it alls" in the community who have nothing better to do than go to counsil meetings and make fools of themselves and appear as if they are experts on everything that is brought up(and you know who you are)

These "Know it alls" are a big part of the reason Chase City is struggling to survive. Over the years they and a few certain money people have fought any kind of progress in our town. We could have had the hwy 58 bypass and the hospital, but they all decided we didn't need the traffic. You only need to ride to South Hill to see what they denied Chase City with their short-sighted self-serving attitiudes.

But then agian these is a retirement community remember. They are the older and wiser of us all. They have been there and done that. We dont need to be like south hill. We need to be more like skipwith. THat is what they want. Nevermind what the rest of us want. Nevermind the working people that have to get up everyday and go to work. As long as the old people are happy then we should just keep our mouth shut right. Now to the older communtiy that is not trying to make this a retirment community this does not apply to you as i know a lot of you out there are pushing to support this. But there are a few rebels in the group.
Then lets get into the wannabes that moved to this area because they could not afford to go anywhere else. if you were so smart and knew so much then you would have retired to the true retirment communities down in Florida and Lake Gaston. But i guess you didnt know as much as you thought you did as you would have had the jobs to pay for thoes kind of places.
Then lets plan to annex the place so we can have your best intrest in mind. To hell with the working people that have to pay more taxes so you can be happy. GIVE ME A BREAK PEOPLE!!! Grow up

In all of the APM postings did any of them have to do with concern for people or did I miss something? From all the postings I can remember and re-read they all have to do with "pristine" land, proprty value, or some THING but never about concern for PEOPLE(besides themselves). Says a lot about APM as far as I'm concerned. Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

chase cityrez hit it on the head, the only people they are concerned about is themselves.... If this plant wasn't so close to a certain pharmicist in town, he would look at you and say, "that's not my problem" and turn and walk away... Not just him, but there are a lot more examples of this in the group!! I guess ethanol plants are like ***holes, "If you ain't got one, you don't need one!!!!"

HAHAHAHAHH Damn it CCrider i couldnt say it any better. I love it. You know i am remided of a joke i heard but i am going to modify it a little.

There was this person that was walking down the street of chase city one day. He was greeted by this fairly vocal person that was forcefull for him to sign a document agianst the ethanol plant. When he said no the person asked him why he wouldnt. He said "because i have a job and now how much others need them as well. The person then asked him what his job was. He said that he streched aholes for a living. The person dazzeld by his response asked him how he did this. The gentleman said well first i start with a finger, then two, eventually i work both hands in there then i continue to strech untill i obtain about a 6 foot ahole. The person that was vocal before asking him to sign asked why would anyone want a 6 foot ahole. he responded you give them a bunch of no ethanol sighs and get them to give them out with mis-information to people.
