Our area is in pitiful shape due to poverty and drugs. I think that is a fair assumption to say that this is a problem that is nationwide and one that is not going to go away.

As a user or non-user of marijuana, do you personally think that marijuana only leads to experimentation with other, stronger, and potentially more harmful drugs?

I think that grass leads the way to opportunity and the temptation to try other things. In other words, I don't think that the dribbling, thieving, "pillbillies" start out that way. I think they probably started out with alcohol and weed and moved on to stronger drugs.

No.

I've known ppl that smoked
pot for 30 yrs and never touched
anything stronger.

I don't think marijuana has anything
to do with the hard core drug problem
that is going on around here.
oh please

No, it's not.

Pot & booze are the only drugs I have EVER done. Never touched a line, never touched a pill. That shit is scary.

I can walk away from weed or wine anytime I want...as a matter of fact, haven't touched anything for more than a year.

No, not a gateway drug. Pills are the gateway drug around here.
weed too hard to get

The problem is not the substance. Its the culture that comes with it. A culture of Irresponsibility. Any mind altering drug (including alcohol)has a tendency to make you want to do nothing. The physical addiction to pot is very mild but the mental & emotional addiction is tremendous. A very disciplined person can handle keeping their "party life" separate from their everyday life regardless of the substance but the drug culture tends to draw in undisciplined personalities. Pot tends to be first drug that people who have that problem try. All excess comes from emptiness. If a person does not feel fulfilled in their daily life then escapism takes over (in undisciplined personalities) and soon they are running from the very life they mourn not having. That is addiction can't be fixed with a medicine. Its not a medical problem..Its a spiritual one.

I think you're a bit off.
Most hard core drug users have undiagnosed
mental problems.
They Know something is wrong but don't know
what it is. So they self medicate.
They take whatever in order to feel better.
Or what they hope will make them feel better.

And glad you're back "up and running."

I heard caffeine was the gateway drug. Every pot head I know had a cup of coffee or a coke/pepsi before trying pot, so obviously caffeine is the real gateway drug.

This kind of backwards thinking is the reason our home is shit. Marijuana is only a a gateway drug if you consider milk one for alcohol. It's a medicine, anyone with any sort of education knows that.

Speaking of drugs, ''Pillheads''. I hope it passes through the state legislation that anyone reiving welfare benifits, should take a drug test before getting approved for foodstamps, medicaid or low income heating programs. The hardworking people the get a large amount taken from their paycheck that they've EARNED, and the you have people who don't want to work ,but just abuse the system. I hope there's more red tape applied inorder to be approved. I know for sure thounds of you will loose your freeloading benifits. If a person is truly facing a condition and connot work, they deserve the program. Just cut off the low life ''crooks''.

I would be happy if they would just enact a 3 strike law. Commit 3 crimes and you can no longer receive state benefits. If I can find your photo on the states website more than the governors, there is a problem.
