Being from a rural area myself, I have this one suggestion: Ask the farmer whose property she was dumped on who he allows to hunt on his property. Ask the same of the owners of property bordering his farm. Hunters tend to be aware of each other and who they have seen around them while hunting. Also (at least in my area) hunters begin visiting places they intend to hunt up to six weeks prior to opening day. There may have been more people around than you would think, this crime did happen in late autumn. There could be witnesses that didn't realize they saw something important to the investigation.

My deepest condolences go out to her parents, family, friends. This is so sad and so horrific.

How anyone could do such a thing to a wonderful, beautiful young woman is beyond me. There are things about the human spirit that I will never understand. I really cannot comprehend evil, how it works, how anyone could be so bad as to hurt this young woman.

This is so extremely sad, just heartbreaking.

Vermonter, my ex-husband was a hunter and you are absolutely right. A person who hunts in the area probably knows the land as good as the farmer who owns the property.

Has anyone looked at this case in relation to the 2 young people from VA Tech that were murdered while on a camping trip? So much sadness for this campus community. I hope I am wrong, but could there be someone out there preying on college students??

Amand,
what kind of question is that? She was murdered which means this poor girl died.

Anyway hopefully they will catch this monster. My condolences to her family and friends.

will investigators be able to determine the cause of death after this much time? could she have possibly been dropped off in this remote area, alive but under the influence, passed out and succumbed to the elements? So many scenarios to consider.

Wow. This profiler is saying just what I read in another article about this case. It is located at the link below and that writer knew a lot about geographical profiling and how it could help catch Morgan's killer:

So very sorry for the Harrington Family, having to go thru such a horrible unimaginable tragedy. My heartfelt prayers are with family at this time. I'm like others someone had to know this farm area to put her in a remote area and probably knew the owner didn't visit this area often and knew she wouldn't be discovered for a long time if ever. Might had hoped that a wild animal would have dragged her body away and never be found.I feel someone very connected to the farm area has full responsibility of this terrible act. I sure hope whomever is responsibe be caught and the book threw at them and given life for the precious life he/she/or they took.I hope this young lady didn't suffer.. she didn't deserve this. REST IN PEACE MORGAN

This young woman's death really bothers me. I have almost been haunted by it. She reminds me so very much of myself when I was her age. When I was a little girl, there was a young girl in a town near mine who was abducted and murdered, from a YMCA. I have never forgotten her or her name. That was over forty years ago.

I feel the same way about Morgan. Seeing her pictures, hearing her story, has really touched my heart. I won't forget her, ever. I can only guess this monster, or monsters, who are responsible for this horrific crime are cowards. Low down scum sucking cowards. Picking on a defenseless your woman. I can only hope fate comes around very soon.
My prayers go out to Morgan's parents. And, her friends. I am so deeply sorry. I wish I could do more..........

If the dump site is a mile and a half from any road way, then You must assume that the killer and Morgan had to have walked to that spot. If that's correct then that is where she died. Are there any visible tracks that lead to and from the spot where Morgan was found? Is there a possibility that she was killed some were else and brought there by some type of ATV ? In any of these scenarios there would have to be some kind of track or maybe trace evidence leading the investigator to the next clue. I also would like to know if the farmer or owner of the farm has been ruled out...

The report I heard was that there had been heavy rains since her disappearance. I would guess that much of that kind of evidence was washed away. I'm very hesitant to even entertain such a question about the farmer who found her. My first response was: How terrifying to know a murderer was on one's property! How haunting!!

Tammy, the farmer is just the unfortunate person that found the body on his vast property. He is clearly not in any way involved. His farm is 700 acres. He said that it would take a 4-wheel drive to get to the site. Obviously, someone with a 4-wheel drive or ATV took her there, alive or already dead. Please do not start any rumors or innuendo about that farmer -- he seems extremely innocent and kind-hearted.

I think Morgan was taken from the RV park and put in an RV and driven away to her demise. She would not be hitchhiking on a bridge and leave her cell phone. Throw away her purse and pull the battery out of the cell phone . Her killer did that. Her cell phone records need to be checked . I think she went out and smoked a cigarette and may have talked to the killer. Take finger prints off the cell phone and her purse . Check area for the battery. You know this person may be a serial killer.
I pray for her family amen

I think what Amand is trying to say is was she murdered or did she die as a result of an accident (Drug OD, fall, etc.) Has it been confirmed that she was actually murdered or was she just dumped there by someone who panicked and knew the area and knew how to get in and out without notice. So much speculating, and the only one who knows the truth is the scumbag that killed her or hid her body. We may never know.

I have read all of these blogs and the almost all of them would give you alot of question on Morgan obduction. I am from the country and as a kid we would see the buzzards flying around and around in the sky and we knew that it was kind of animal that had died. May be the investigators should ask the hunters did they or can they remember seeing any kind of activity like that. Also I agree with one of the writers on here when they said check with the hunters who frequently goes on the property to hunt. Because before they hunt they have to let the owner know when they will be hunting on that property and also the hunters have a hunting club they meet at in groups so everyone will know what location they will be at while in woods. And for the writer who said something about a ATV , it has been about a 100 days Morgan has been missing and since then the weather has destroy all tracks no matter if was a tractor or a horse. It had to have been someone who frequents that area all the time . He or She is not new to that location.I feel for the family because this really makes me feel hurt inside..
