I did not realize a news organization (NBC29) could obtain a "Search Warrant"

I believe they are public record. They also got the ones from the Love case.

I think it means that they simply got access to the info contained in the search warrant that had already been executed by authorities. What a tradegy!! We have a generation of young adults and children who have been raised seeing violence at movies, on TV, video games etc. Perhaps a contributing factor!!??

I really think it has to go deeper than tv and video games. I have seen this all my life, the school shooting's 9/11. It has not made me a killer. I just wonder what if anything could have been done to help this child and why have so much hate. He didn't appear to hate his family in anyway.

What you are hoping for as well as the rest of the liberal progressives is "Utopia". I'm sorry to say it does not exist. This is a horrible tragedy. Bad things happen. Things that none of us can prevent no matter how hard we try. It's a fact of life. Honor the dead and move on...

Thats all well and good but if we don't try to learn from these things and just "honor the dead and move on" we do an fail the living. These things don't just "happen". I can bet you there were signs that were ignored or at least never fully addressed. His interest in devil worship was a good place to start. The kid had a dark side and others had to have known about it.?? A horrible tragedy that might have been prevented ???

Not that it makes a big difference, but he used a rifle as noted in the search warrant, not a handgun. A simple search on the internet will show you want a Ruger 10/22 looks like. If you want to report on horrible situation, at least make it factual.

You're right. It doesn't make a difference.

What on earth would make a young person do such a thing?

Your right, not a day goes by that I don't get in a shoot out with some Indians or Germans, put on a cape and fly out of an office building. Hey tonight I might roll a vehicle off a cliff and let it explode on impact.

Yeah, imagine if there were no religion. People might decide that this one life we have is more important and not find glory and facination with death being greater than present life. That is a true utopian society.

And here is our political system in a nut shell.

The guy on the right seems good to me. The guy on the left seems more to my liking. Hey, there is a guy holding up both puppets! Intercom: Shut up America, drink beer, watch Jersey Shore and stay stupid and apathetic.

How about some more pertinent facts...or at least an effort to discover...
1. Who is Don Walton and where was he when this happened?
2. Was there a note left by Noah?
3. What was the nature of the calls police responded to at that house in the past? It was said at the outset that "police were familiar with that address and had been there in the past."
4. What was the nature of Noah's relationship with his father and his new stepfather?
5. Where did he obtain the guns? A bagger at Harris Teeter generally does not have the income to buy a firearm.

These are things that would certainly add to the story, since we are looking for causes and background.

Wasn't there some mention of a "Satanic" link in some of the news stories? If that is the case, no wonder this type of event can happen. If TV and video games causes this, it's the end of the world. Everybody run!

@Whatever. I wouldn't consider The Hook the greatest source.

READ the search warrant, it states officers observed a hand gun near the deceased male. He used it to take his own life, and appears to have used a rifle that night as well. So TWO firearms were used that night, therefore the article is correct that a handgun was also used

Notice the search warrant only has 1 weapon in it and the early warrant only had 1 weapon listed in it, so unless APD has bungled the investigation and not properly documented everything, there is only 1 weapon.
