According to an earlier report in The Hook, "...her father says Morgan drove herself and her longtime friend and Blacksburg roommate, Amy Melvin, to Harrisonburg to meet up with another longtime friend, Sarah Snead, who attends James Madison University, as well as a friend’s boyfriend." "At 2pm, Morgan called her dad and confirmed that they’d safely arrived in Harrisonburg. The plan was still on for father and daughter on Sunday to balance her checkbook, which she’d overdrawn buying groceries." "Before Metallica took the stage, Morgan reportedly called Snead to say that although she had gotten shut out of the concert by leaving the venue, she would find a ride back to Harrisonburg, where she’d left her car." Here's my question: Since Morgan drove herself and her roommate, Amy, from Tech to H'burg, why didn't Amy realize very early on on Sunday morning (or even late Sat. evening) that something was wrong? Remember, Morgan was supposed to be Amy's ride back home to their apartment in Blacksburg. Without Morgan, how was Amy supposed to be able to return to Blacksburg? This should have raised an immediate concern on the part of Amy. This is NOT intended to fault Amy in any way; I'm certain she and all of Morgan's friends are distraught by Morgan's disappearance. It's just puzzling to me why Amy wouldn't have been concerned very early on and alerted someone. Or, perhaps she was and we simply have not heard.

Why didn't Morgan get into her car and lock herself in there until it was over? It seems she meet someone outside and that's when what every happen got started. They should be looking in on her friends closer with question.

The suspicious part is what lured her outside the venue before the show began? This young lady supposedly had tickets 6 months before the show. To go outside and then call your friends and tell them that you'll catch your own ride back later seems very suspicious to me...Somebody knows more than they're letting onto...

I agree, what if the purse was dropped off in the parking lot to throw off the blood hounds, and the girl was never even in Charlottesville. And the phone calls to her friends never took place either. She might still be Harrisonburg.

Usually a call can be pinpointed to within a very small area. We're not some backwoods little podunk town (no offense, some are great places to live.)With local authorities, State Police and the FBI working on the case, that would have been the first avenue of investigation.

An additional thought, it could be possible, if the stories are not panning out, that the public, and especially the friends, are not aware that their inconsistencies have been discovered. Putting all available information out to a nosey public is not the way to solve a case.

There are just some aspects of the investigation they are not going to make public to avoid compromising the case. I only hope if whoever is involved in this is following the posts on here they realize they will be caught.

This is very sad that a young woman is missing. There is so much that hasn't been said on the national and local news fronts, i.e., was her car found in Harrisonburg, was her computer seized and what has it revealed if anything,...If this young woman did run into harm's way in the UVa parking lot, and evidence is found later, the police will have some explaining to do. Why did it take six days for them to distribute fliers and search the area? I park at the lot where her belongings were found, and I didn't see one police/law enforcement on foot until this past Thursday. Why? Why is it when that guy from Glenmore was missing at Wintergreen they called in all of the local search and rescue groups, but when it's a young woman from a concert, there's no immediate large search? We pray she is found safe and reunited with her family and friends.

UVA should add $200000to the Harrington reward fund. Thisis a drop in the bucket for UVA. This happened on the UVA campus nad UVA should make a stronger effort with the reward money.

You're missing the point. Someone posted that there was no money involved, that's why there was no big search, to which you responded that the person was an idiot because there was a lot of money being spent on this investigation. The previous reference implied that because Morgan Harrington was not in possession of a lot of people's money, that large search parties were not dispatched immediately. In contrast, when someone went missing with hundreds of thousands of dollars, there was an immediate concern. Hence, the comment "no money involved. sad." You're throwing around the word idiot without thinking. No one implied that there is no money being spent on this investigation, yet you base your name calling on such a claim. Think first, then hit send.

C'VilleGordo - Seriously man, get off your high horse. You ALWAYS come here to disrespect people, twist peoples points, instigate an arguement, and defend cops. Do you have any other reason to be here? I've NOT ONCE seen you concerned for the girls safety, or recovery. If you have nothing better to do than to come here and spew off at the mouth, go elsewhere. People are genuinely concerned for this girl, you obvioulsy arent.

I have been to several concerts at JPJ, but have only parked in the main lot near the venue twice. When we left, but we stayed until the last song, all traffic was not allowed to go back to 29 how you came in, but went on all these back roads. Since there was no LE to direct you for the detour, we ended up at the airport. I hope that LE has checked that area if they believe she left in a vehicle. However, maybe if you leave at 9:30 then you could exit onto 29. I hope and continue to pray that Morgan will be alive and well and will be found soon.
