I'm so glad I had just left the store!!

This guy is a complete fool. Given the political climate, and that's all this is, I do not put it past an Obama gun grabber to pull this stunt to get the rest of the Charlottesville "progressive" family and their panties in a wad over this. This is nothing more than a stunt.

Someone needs to get his name and find out all about him. I smell a rat in the SEIU woodpiles.

Wouldn't this be the same as shouting "Fire" in a movie theater? How can they release this guy when he deliberately incites fear in people? This is nuts!!

I was at the gas pumps at Kroger when this call was dispatched. "Man just entered Kroger with an assault rifle slung over his back". I assumed immediately that this was just another pro 2nd Amendment advocate exercising his rights in all the wrong ways. This exact same scenario played out in a shopping mall just last week if you recall.

The scary part about this is the person walked in, walked around, and exited the store before the first police office arrived on scene. If this had been a real "shooter" situation, the damage would have already have been done. You can't rely on the police to protect you, so you had better learn to defend and protect your 2nd Amendment rights.

I was armed and prepared to go in if I heard any shooting taking place. I am glad it didn't come to this. I didn't want to be mistaken for the actual shooter and shot in the back myself when the police did finally get there.

So now we can't tell the difference between a Second Amendment protester and a murderous lunatic. Thank you NRA.

That's exactly what he wants to do, instill fear and get people wound up about "assault weapons". This is much like what the so called main stream media is doing about guns in general. Shame on them both.

I bet many people lawfully carry concealed everyday in retail stores in town and no one notices. And, no one gets shot either.

This guy was Grade A dumb. There is a time & place to carry a weapon, and seeing as he wasn't in his house or hunting (unless there are suddenly wild animals running through the Kroger), why the HELL did he feel the need to carry around his rifle, loaded or unloaded?

I'm all for 2nd amendment rights, but this smacks of some guy who might be compensating for something. Either that, or someone mouthed off to him and he felt the need to put some sort of fear into them.

Glad the Kroger banned him from the premises. Stupidity of that level needs a response like that, legal or not.

I was in the store when all of this happend and I can tell you this caused wide spread panic! Why other then to make a statement and to scare people would have this man brought an Assault Weapon into the store? This Nation is already on pins and needles over all of these senseless killings that happen when these guns gets in the hands of people with severe mental illness. How did we not know he wasn't another one of them? The firt thing that ran across my mind was all those young innocent children in Conn.
This is a sick young man here that gets his thrills on scaring people. It is sad that we have to be afraid and constantly looking over our shoulders every where we go!

Yes you can. The key here (I think), even when dispatched, was the fact the rifle was slung over his back. A murderous lunatic would have entered with the rifle in his hands and ready to fire.

Alright enough is enough. if you want to make a statement about your 2nd amendment rights in Charlottesville use a pistol and open carry. Got way tooooo many bleeding heart liberals in this town.

Glade he was making a statement and not a nut case since once again when seconds count the police are minutes away.

So if you're sure that "no NRA supporter would endorse this at all," perhaps you're also sure that the NRA will make an official statement denouncing this kind of behavior, if it was "just" making a point about 2nd Amendment rights?
