Give the schools the fund to put an armed resource officer in every Augusta County school , Arm every bus driver carrying up to 90 little kids some freak can jump on anywhere anytime and take control over.

Other than that .

Close the schools if you have to ,

NO MORE GIMME GIMME GIMME .

The real estate tax rate in August Co. is $.48 per $100. I think a $.05 increase wouldn't hurt anyone...

That is the perfect solution. Especially when other countries are out performing the US in education. Just stop funding education. Let another country take the lead in the world. We don't need to be competitive. Eyes rolling.

Has the BOS looked at the ACSB budget? There are lots of ways to conserve, there is a lot of waste. Ex: school buses running for 1/2 hr or more to warm up, waste of food, large quanity of copy paper stock piled, the list could go on. How can a budget be approved by school boards members yet leave out the cafeteria workers and bus drivers insurance. Those should have been included! These employees are most important to the school as much as a teacher, computer techs, clinical aids, teacher aids and custodians. Without bus drivers - most students won't get to school, without cafeteria workers (who are under paid) our students would not eat breakfast or lunch! Are the school board members going to give up 1/2 of their insurance - I feel sure their salary is a lot more than the bus drivers and cafeteria employees make. Why raise taxes when cuts can be made within?

Could we have a show of hands of all the people who spoke out on the school budget who are not school personnel.....Just guessing but I would be willing to bet that all who spoke out are school personnel in one way or another....the BOS needs to find other ways to fund the schools other than on the backs of the real estate property owning resisdents of Augusta county....and that goes for all other juristictions as well.....real estate property owners should not be the najor sole primary source of school budget funding....

Stop overpaying teachers! They are just part time hacks anyway!
