With all this publicity can we please forget about dreaming up more ways to 'market' Cville? We are doing so well, we pay CVB employees to try to keep up even finding all the accolades. If we ever held a SXSE festival, our next recognition would be most gridlocked small southern town.

All these accolades boggle the mind. I rank it number one place I run screaming from every night at 5pm!
Not a fan.

I imagine most people like this place when they visit. I sure did, but that changed once I decided to live here. Traffic is a nightmare and doesn't seem like there will be a fix anytime soon. This place is too small to have such a congested area.

Albemarle & surrounding counties are all these things, not C'ville proper.

We are all those things, and I love this place. Traffic here is NOT horrible, compare it with Richmond, or DC, or Phili. So we might have to wait more than two minutes at a traffic light, big wup.

I think all these accolades are helpful. I think Charlottesville is going through big changes right now, and "rebranding" is just part of the process. Not surprising that NBC29 ran this story.

There are lot's of problems with C'Ville though. Carreer Opportunities for young people(Good paying jobs), affordable housing, inadequate infrastructure (and getting worse.) These three are terrible, and together should disqualify C'Ville from most lists. Young folks want the hella outta here asap after graduating.
There's no perfect place, but if it's your home, it's the best one for now.

Oh its just the democratic libs patting themselves on the back, since C'ville is a hot spot of them.

Teezy,
Would you like to know WHY traffic is so bad here? It's because other people visit in droves, decide they want to live here and are now clogging up the roads! Due to the influx of other people, Charlottesville is no longer the same, sleepy little town I and many other natives enjoyed growing up in.

Traffic is bad here because of poor planning, lack of vision and lack of courage to make hard decisions.
