"the masses"... wow, haven't heard that "pinko-commie" talk in a long time...
What part about Democracy don't you like? The freedom to vote? Free speech?
Tell us in the "masses" what country you like better than this one.

Hmm.. can't use "c.o.m.m.i.e." here, short for communist. Someone must think that is a really bad word.

May I get your attention, please. The Federal and State governments cannot sustain the current spending! I say, reform the retirement system by voluntarily having employees contribute to their retirement and reducing the employer-contribution. Conduct seminars or classes showing the advantage of employee-contributions. We feel better when can contribute for our own welfare in retirement. The year 2012 is just around the corner and now would be a good time to prepare.

The government does not have any more money to give away. Obama already gave it away and then printed more to give away. Now he wants it all back. not the typical tax and spend democrate but the spend and tax type.

Had the Dems actually made progress the last few years, you'd probably see a left wing win. Bottom line: the Dems failed, the people realized it and and spoke loud and clear: they're tired of the left wing BS and are ready for CHANGE that actually has some HOPE to go along with it.

You're a little behind the curve... the unwashed masses voted last time all hoping for a government handout of soap and water. Now they'll actually have to work for it. What a shame.

Nope, here comes less handouts to the parasites of society at the expense of those who actually have the dignity and ethics to WORK for a living.

Why does there have to be Republican v. Democrat??? Everyone just DO WHAT's RIGHT!!! And Governor, while you are out there talking about how great Virginia is, how about putting the money back into the VRS that you stole so you could say Virginia had a surplus!!!!

I work for a living and do not enjoy my tax money being spent on greedy, thieving parasites like the government of Israel, and DOD Contractors. We must cut out hand outs to nations like Israel and quit "occupying" the Middle East. We have issues that need addressing here. There is NOTHING in Israel any American should care about, the do not help us by constantly begging for help either financially or for military support. They cause their own problems, let them deal with it, not us.

Do you mean that there will now be fewer handouts to TBTF banks and Republican corporate cronies?

Because I, for one, am tired of working for a living and supporting those parasites.

Bozo has his majority now so lets see what he does with it. I bet we see more spending, more debt and no jobs. Thank God President Nobama is a Democrat because Bozo can blame his failures on him. That is if he finds the time away from his duties as the Chairman of the Republication Governor's Association and Vice Presidential hopeful under his buddy Rick (dumber than Bush) Perry.

From the article:
""We're focused on a results-oriented conservatism and by that I mean we've toned down the rhetoric, we get people to work together, we focus on solving problems that people care about, and we don't point blame. We focus on getting results," he stated."

The Reeves/Houck race was full of rhetoric and negative ads from BOTH sides. It will never happen but why can't political campaigns focus on what steps and ideas THEY have that would improve the lives of their constituents - not what bad things THEY think their opponent did.

I sincerely hope the Republicans CAN work together with the Democrats and I sincerely hope that if that does happen the Washington politicians DO stand up and take notice because there doesn't seem to be anything but rhetoric coming out of Washington.

Sure would like to see Tom Garret's idea of mandatory drug testing for those on welfare. That would make my day. Finally those that don't deserve it will be sitting in the park with the "occupy folks" instead of living the jobless life and still driving around in their fancy cars bought with drug money. Say bye to the free hand outs and learn to get a REAL job like some of us other hard workers out here.
