This is the danger of a City Council staying up nights to dream up ways to spend more than 20 million of Albemarle taxpayer’s money.

Did it occur to them that most residents know what Washington and New York City are like and don't want to live there, much less change the area to resemble those cities?

The money must be burning a hole in their pockets.

Spend, spend, spend! Disgusting.

A better way to improve the safety of the roads would be to find someone who knows how to build decent roads.

New roads do not need to be world-class roller coasters.

Ah, the signs could read:

"Danger, living here costs far much more than it's worth."

Surely a few signs at 55K per sign would mean that the "city" could be hiring a few more police officers or teachers rather than direct motorists through a large town that thinks it's a world-class city.

I guess they will put this up to match the out of place looking pavillion at the downtown mall. What will it read? "You are in a traffic jam. Welcome to Charlottesville home of Route 29 from hell. Hope you enjoy your stay in traffic. We put this sign up to help you around our city because we can't afford a bypass around our city."

How about a new city council instead? If you live around here, you already KNOW how to get where you're going (if you don't, you probably shouldn't be out alone in the first place); if you're from out of town, heck, most people have those stupid GPS things now, and if you can't afford that, BUY A MAP!!

Hey here's a message: Quit spending money we don't have for stuff we don't need.

Add to initial cost maintenance and electric bills.

Now this is all we need, bad enough that people can't stay off their cell phones while driving and it takes them forever to push the gas peddle when the light turns green, now we'll have another distraction for people to blame when they get into an accident. I swear I think they must have a catalogue down there at city hall of things they can buy to waste taxpayer money. You'd think we were living in NJ. Sign, sign, everywhere a sign, do this don't do that its breakin my mind.
