Didn't the city want to clean up all the road side signage that contaminates the city byways? Besides, the guy was just doing us and somebody else a favor getting rid of all the signs that are left behind after elections.

Anyone out there who can research the VA Code?

Ah, the fascistic tendencies of the Left.

Just wait until Romney wins then they'll really go nuts.

Perhaps the UN should monitor the Obama Administration, its affiliates and anyone who considers themselves a progressive?

You know, just to make sure their is not voter suppression or intimidation...

Didja see this video...it shows tons of sign vandalim in Charlottesville/Albemarle...ha s over 160,000 views on youtube. So much for the Democrats in Jefferson Country, home of the Free Speech Wall, protecting the free speech and political speech of others.

Anyone who believes these acts of vandalism are isolated incidents perpetrated by a few bad apples is sorely mistaken. This is evidence of shameful liberal bigotry which is endemic in Charlottesville. It's rampant and has been so for several years now.

The sign was on private property, making this act a crime.

I look at this way...you brave enough to come on my private property to steal ANYTHING AT ALL....U brave enough to suffer the consequences!! Place the political sign on your private property..then place a NO trespassing sign...VA code states you have the right to prosecute!

Vote Vote Vote..

I already voted for the President and it felt great to have it said and done.

No matter what candidate you support, get out and participate in the great American Democracy.

Don't let folks like me or the Governor or Bart Simpson get two votes, because you decided to not cast one vote.

All I know..everyone should vote for the person you believe will prevent all of us from paying 6.00 for a gallon of milk come a couple of years from now..b/c that is definitly what is going to happen..without a doubt!! Supply will be way down in the coming years...and demand is going to increase..and then the late 1970's inflation model will be in play..the only difference will be that Jimmy Carter will not be in office!

Funny that you mention this. I bought a half gallon of milk in that very gas station this summer and got a few cents change from $5.

Haven't been back since.

The funny thing is that obama's braindead followers say they will protest if he does not win the election. Well the guys on the other side of the fence are the ones setting record sales for firearms. Who do you think will be the winner?????

why does NBC call this a "caper" It's stealing, vandalism, anti-social, a criminal act. etc. Why is the local NBC affiliate so biased in its reporting- Let's have some proper news reporting, not political opinions.

Hmmm, no criminal complaint from the sign owner. Sounds like a false flag operation. BTW, I think these political signs are unsightly .... from either side.

Can someone please tell me why Matt is smiling through this report. Think it funny or what. A group of student came by while they were putting sign back up. One of them told 2 guys that they may have 1st amendment right to put up the sign. but according to their what they learned in school, they have right to come onto your property and take it down. Because if offend them. Plus the property that any one us may own. The right to own property come from the city or county or state or federal government. It is own by government anyhow.

First off the owner has no room to talk because he is a crook. Ever see his prices in the store, and actually the sign is not on his property so it's not considered stealing.

Now yau'll need to cut the thief some slack. After all, it was the service station's fault. How dare they not be open when he needed gas? We all know liberals have a sense of entitlement. LOL LOL
