I have known Beth since we were in High School so somethings many of you should know:
1) Google this tradegy and read the myrid of articles, but READ THEM. You will find they explain the number of victims, the ages of the two adults AND THE FACT there were two children also killed. Get it - Adult/Children Yes Noah is an adult since he is older than 18, while Lily and Andrew are not.
2) Why would school not be open? This isn't a CSI Show. The dead would not be paraded out for all to see. In addition, the murders took place the night before any child would be at the nearby school so the due diligence of the school district in determining school will be opened is not an issue.
3) Beth is the mother of all three kids. Her maiden name is McLaughlin, she was married and divorced from the childrens father years ago. She remarried in June 2012 to her current husband, thus Walton is her married name though she used McLaughlin professionally.
4) Did you ever consider that people who love her would read your posts? Did ya? Because most are terse flurries of nonsense interrupted by ass-up-tions. Try some empathy and put your self in the friends and family's position. Would any of your squabble honor the lives of the dead? Then maybe you could turn from those and provide some comfort. Like may others did.

It's part of the job. If they don't like it, they are free to seek employment elsewhere. And from what I have seen, Albemarle would be very fortunate if some of them did choose to go elsewhere.

NBC29 removed my post - but the fact is their reporting is sloppy and completely lazy. "two children killed" ? The daughter was in high school so I would guess she was probably 16, maybe older. The other one does not look like a "child" to me, he was probably 13ish, at least.

When you report a child was killed, what do you think? 4, 5, 6? A teenager is not a child, that is why we have a name for them...to signal THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

Legal lingo aside, pure lazy reporting. They obviously didn't care to investigate the "juviniles" and their age or just wanted to add a shock factor.

I'm glad more and more people posted similar commments to my early ones, regarding keeping politics out of this forum, and noted that those types of commments were terribly disgraceful and disrespectful of the dead. I have to say that I rarely read or participate in this type of comment thread/blog/discussion board, and I'm appalled at many of the comments I've read. Frankly, it frightens me that many of you walk in my midst, and also that so many of you probably own guns. It's a sad commentary on the state of our country, our society. Kudos to those who have kept their remarks relevant to the topic at hand and to all who have respectfully expressed their grief, concern and love for the dead. To anyone who has expressed anything else, you should be ashamed of yourselves. For all who knew the family, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Rattle, you are a total moron. Get with the program. nbc29 didn't do a great job with the story as their irrelevant comment regarding police being pulled from the Obama job is what got most of the nutjobs on the lunatic politican rants. Perhaps a better choice of words would have been 'juveniles' vs.'children'. But any person with half a brain understands that the two words are often used interchangeably in this type of reporting. Let's not look for reasons to go off on other idiotic tangents that distract from the real issue at hand here. Four people are dead, all from the same family, all taken too soon. Have some respect, for God's sake.

If there is any political topic that is pertinent here, it's the topic of gun violence, the prevalence of guns in the home, and gun control.

I think for me it would help make sense of things. I would find it VERY hard to believe that Beth did this.
So now all of you who wanted to know who killed who, well you know. Did it make you sleep any better last night? It was a 19 year old man (child?) who apparently had some issues (some know what they were, some don't) and it's too late to do anythinga about it.

My sincere prayers go out to the remaining family and friends and I hope time will heal your hearts. For friends of Mrs. Walton, I'm sure this makes you feel better that she did not kill her children. But did she know what was going on with her son? I doubt he just decided to do this at the spur of the moment. Did she know he was troubled? Did the dad know what was going on?

Well there is at least some "closure" to this. Now everyone will want to know why he did it, what drove him to it. No one will ever know the exact reason for this.

RIP Romando family.

Please pray for the extended family of those who are deceased. So sad that such a tragic thing could happen, but it does every day - somewhere. Please keep all the trash to yourself, it doesn't help anyone, not even you. Beth has a lot of family in WV who will remember her with love. Please, please pray that God will comfort them.

I am getting sick of all you people on here passive aggressively defended "Noah." Namely the "Oly.." person.

The kid butchered his entire family. Period. Of course he was sick in the head. So what?

How am I being passive aggressive? All I said was in an earlier post if he did kill his family (and now we know he did), then his soul needed prayer not damnation. I believe in praying for people and I will pray for your soul too Rattle. I'm not trying to put blame on him, on society or anything. I find this very tragic, but it will do no good now to "damn" this person to "hell". Quite possibly that's where he is -- that's probably where he was - in a hell - maybe of his own making. Never once did I "defend" him. What he did was horrid -- but I do feel bad for his tortured soul.

Says the person from Newport News, VA. It's sick that whenever there is a tragedy, weirdos come out of the woodwork and try to interject themselves as part of it - even though they probably didn't really know anyone involved. Usually they are all very narcissistic

I can't even describe how infuriating these comments are....... I can't put to words the sheer anger I feel. I'm not a stranger to the game of politics. I'm not a stranger to blasting the media. I'm not a stranger to injustices placed where they shouldn't be, but this series of comments that I've just finished reading is the most saddening and disgraceful petty war I have EVER seen. I can't comprehend how you people could all see through the lives that have been destroyed, the pain and suffering everyone who's know the victims is going through, and turn their attention directly to trying to find some new way to get their opinion out. I have no problem with you voicing your opinion to the public, but detracting people from the fact that a whole community is feeling the loss of these 4 respected and loved people is just horrifyingly wrong. I can't even imagine what would put the idea in your head that turning a horrible, remorseful situation like this into a petty political battleground is an acceptable thing. I knew them. I hurt from the loss of these people as if I had lost a family member. You people have managed to turn a solemn moment of tears and anguish into sheer passionate and fiery rage. Go fight your battles, go have your petty wars, but don't EVER disgrace the the dead, and those who morn them.
Allow me to reiterate my statement from yesterday, as I most likely going to have to do every day.

I'm a freshman in college, in Newport News. I graduated from Albemarle High last year. I had 2 classes with her last year, and the year before that. Get your facts straight. I have cried for 2 days now over this. Thanks for the kind words of condolence.

Cool your jets....that remark was for Rattle (hence Rattle-Prattle). I have no reason to not believe you. Rattle is an internet troll, just trying to stir up stink.

Like I said...you are one of those weird narcissistic people who tries to get attention out of awful tragedies in which you have absolutely no involvement. In fact, people like you have a weird sick sense of self-satisfaction by people knowing that you are indirectly affected.
