So the red line is drawn because it's less humane to die from poisoned lungs/skin than a slow death resulting from a bomb blast?

Just seems to me we should let them mind their own business. Just like Egypt. If they're bent on self destruction how am I to argue. If they all want to martyrs fine with me.

Isn't this fundamentaly a religous divide? Our naval forces bomb from afar to support one god over another, i.e. energy price stabilibty?

Yes and no, the ruling class is Alawite Shi'ite Muslims; the rebels are radical Sunni Muslims. Under the Alawites, the Christians and Jews have relative religious freedom, whereas under the Sunnis, they would be persecuted, hunted down, and exterminated like what is going on in Iraq, and to a lesser extreme Libya and Egypt. What makes it more complicated is Syria's complicity with Iran and Hezbollah. On the other hand Al Qaeda is siding with the rebels.
There is no side for us to take, we need to stay away from this.

The U.S. rejected Syria's offer to allow the U.N. to inspect the site of chemical weapons attack on Monday.
.
It was too late the U.S. claims.

I see there was another mass suicide bombinb in Iraq today, a secular leader was assasinated in Libya earlier this month, and both Tunisa and Libya is on the verge of civil war...

... Tell me how Obama isn't W.Bush v.2.0?

We should just give chemical weapons to the opposition and let them keep on killing each other.
