Still much to love about SouthPark

When I moved to Charlotte in 1997, J.C. Penney and Sears were still flagships of SouthPark mall, and the building explosion was in its infancy.

-the service is disorganized.
-the food is overpriced.
-the bar under pours.
-the wine is usually spoiled.
-the managers are dishonest and dislike the guests almost as much as their own employees.
-the only thing the owner cares about is himself.*wrapped in an armor of self-righteousness.

JC Penney was never at SouthPark. Perhaps you remember it at Park Road Shopping Center, but that was longer ago than your arrival in 1997.

Ditto on Heelia's comment. There was never a JC Penny at SouthPark. The original department stores were Belk, Sears and Ivey's(now Dillards). Then in the late 1980's a new wing was built with Thalhimer's (Hecht's/Macy's) as the anchor.

Does anyone have an update on what's going on at the corner of Glen Eagles and Park Rd? I'd love to see something other than a fence with outdated signs....

I imagine that the original author meant to say that JCPenney and Sears were anchors at Eastland (which they were at the time).

South Park should never have kicked out Sears. So what if I wanted to buy tires and designer clothes in the same trip?
