Review: Dreams Studio Of Dance

The music, costumes, and dances are all age appropriate. Tara does edit her music because she doesn't want inappropriate language in the music/dance. There are a variety of great musical styles to choose from but there are also a great variety that one does have to edit. As a parent I would be more worried if the studio didn't edit the music. By the way, I think you need to find something more constructive to do in order to occupy all your fee time.

Of course, the version that Tara is using is edited, but when you listen to the version she is using, you can clearly hear what is suppose to be said. I have took the time to look up the actual lyrics, I found it to be very shocking what they were saying, and i think even though she is using the edited version the song should not be used for her hip-hop that she is teaching.

This is a great studio for kids and we are very happy there. I would recommend this studio to anyone looking for a new studio. I honestly have no bad comments and we have been with Dreams for 2 years. Very professional, very organized and lots of fun for the kids as well as the parents. The parents are a big part of the dances, costumes and music. We will be with Dreams for many years to come.

The music is actually a song that was used on the hit TV show So You Think You Can Dance. Tara ran the music by the parents as I am one of them. As long as the music is edited ( which it is ) No bad words, and she even takes out any of the phrases that have a bad word beeped out. Since you think you know so much. Get a life. Like Kim said find something else to do with your time. You make yourself look stupid coming on here all the time and writing about things you have no clue about. Don't try to make the studio look as bad as you are looking now. Also why don't you say your name????? Its because your a coward and any person with a brain can see that the studio is doing great. She has many happy parents and students. Every studio has it downs and ups but at Dreams you will find many more ups than downs.

Responce to - I don't know how many parents see these commments, that currently have their children dancing at Dreams, for the show troop. I just wanted to bring to your attention a song that Tara has been using while teaching the young girls. Of course, the version that Tara is using is edited, but when you listen to the version she is using, you can clearly hear what is suppose to be said. This is the first time I have seen this site and I am appalled at some of the comments on here. The personal attacks on Mrs. Tara and Mrs. Jenny are uncalled for. Last year was my daughters first year at Dreams and she loved it. Mrs. Jenny is a great teacher and my daughter looked up to her a lot. She pays individual attention to each child in the class. My daughter can’t wait for summer break to be over so that she can get back to the studio. I didn’t know Mrs. Tara or Mrs. Jenny before last year and they both have been very polite and welcoming to both me and my daughter. This is the first dance studio that I have been to that values the parents opinions. The parents have a say in the music and costume selections. They are also invited into the dance rooms from time to time to watch the class perform. We enjoyed our time at the studio so much that I have allowed my daughter to take two classes this coming year. Like the other posts have stated….come see for yourself as I am sure that you will be pleased with what you see.

What are you, Amish? There is nothing inappropriate about the way the teachers dress and what HORRIBE characterizes aout the studio did you find? I'm 17 this is my third year at dreams it is a great studio and fun and the instructors are good dancers and very down to earth. That is why you are anonymous because you have no idea what you are TALKING about

I am 17 years old and this is my 3rd year at Dreams Studio. After reading the ridiculous reviews about it I felt it was only necessary to post my own.
Unlike the other girls at the studio I haven't been doing this most of my life. One day I just saw the sign driving home and thought "I want to do THAT." And since I started, Tara and the rest of the studio have made me feel very welcome. It's always a joy coming to practice and seeing the teachers.
I am an extremely critical and blunt person, as is Tara. So let me just acknowledge a few things said by the anonymous commentors for those that are considering Dreams Studio.
What are you people, Amish? The instructors do not dress inappropriately. They dress like dancers. You have not the SLIGHTEST idea what "trashy" is.
Tara is a magnificent dancer and a hardcore instructor who has the ability to Make you learn and Make you rock a routine. She always says to my classes "you can look like white girls who can dance hiphop, or white girls tryin to dance hiphop". She is an AWESOME choreographer and she gets us lookin good. When she's not being serious, she always has us laughing.
and how about this to the person that wrote about cigarettes and guys, is it any of your damn business? Tara has never done anything inappropriate in front of her girls we love her. So stick it.
You send your child to Dreams I can promise you they will be welcomed and have a great time that's well worth the money, and I can think of some other studios that charley much more and aren't really any better.
You want them to have a great time and learn to dance wonderfully? Send them to Dreams Studio.
Everyone gets to know everyone. I have to say it was one of the beat decisions I have made joining this studio I love the people and the teachers, regardless of any rough edges.

I would have to agree with all of the negative comments that have been posted. As an adult that danced there, I witnessed many innapprioriate things going on at this studio. I did not like the attitudes toward the children or any of the dancers there. The recital which we worked very hard towards was extremely unorganized. The level of professionalism at this studio is not what it should be for a business thst is working with young children. Although I did not have children that went there, I did know children who left there because they weren't comftable with the atmosphere and felt as though they weren't having fun and it was too critical and serious. It is one thing to provide good teaching in order to produce great dancers but it is innaprioriate to talk down to children and parents which I often saw occurring in this studio. Everyone most definitely has a right to their own choice and opinion but I would strongly urge you to find another studio for your child to enjoy. Dancing is a great hobby for any child and it would be a shame for this studio to ruin their outlook on it. Thank you.

My daughter has been at this studio for 4 years, and there has never been any type of unprofessionalism at this studio. The teachers are great and wonderful with the children. The teachers take the time to really get to know the children and form strong bonds with them. The teachers are caring, respectful and treat each child and parent with respect. The children are not talked down too, I am their 3 nights a week and have never heard, or seen anything like that go on. Also, if you danced their why do you feel the need to not post your name. Maybe because you never danced there, and this is not a true statement.
All persons reading this - Do not believe what you hear from other people. You can make you own opinion about the studio if you come in for a visit. Walk into the studio on any given night and you can see what I see week after week. I would recommend this studio to any person looking to put their child in dance or wanting to change studios.

I would have to agree with those who are staying anonymous, I really dont care if she knows my name. And I truely dont think those people are from another studio that are making the comments. If you are a parent that took your child there and is not best buds with Tara then you would agree! But from experience a friend of mine took her child there last yr and what they are saying is true. The owner does wear just a tank top (boobs hung out)tight leggings and even at the blue crabs stadium wore high heal shoes! Not something you would want your young child or teenager to look up to.
As for the routines, what a joke the recital was a mess not the least bit worth my money (expensive Not sure what she does with the $ cause the parents pay for everything right down to the trophy)and not yours either unless you are a man that would like to sit and watch the teachers shaking it about every 3rd act!(Discusting)
If your looking for a good dance studio this is not the place. I cant suggest another as my friend would not put her child in a situation like that again! Thanks and good luck!
