Why just Dunfee and not all the other issues still under investigation?

Who stole all the 911 tapes?
Who stole money twice?
Who bombed the 2 police cars?
Who bombed the tax collectors house?
Who took investigative files?

Why did the files on the Walpole incident turn up missing?
Why did many police offcers get let go and their issues covered up?
Why is there missing evidence and files long after Dunfee left?

Why did the trustees cover up the traffic ticket issue and the leaks from BFPD and other record checks they knew about?

We should get answers but we know the beat goes on

Says alot about the guy who hired him, the background check, references checked, polygraph test - if administered and on and on.
Hey, wait a minute, the guy who hired him is now the county sheriff.
Will this county sheriff be like the last one. Spending county money on a side business.
Gotta figure, birds of a feather flock together.

I totally agree with bf resident. there were an awful lot of people including officers and other staff that were totally aware of what was going on.
The corruption and coverups started long before Dunfee entered the picture all the to the town officials. It will never end the dishonest leaders will keep things like this always and we know this because no proper action is ever taken just covered up.

" Four months of investigation eventually led to the police securing three search warrants, and James Critchfield, 51, of Rockingham, and Phillip Euber, 21, of Bellows Falls, had their residences searched on Sept. 25 and were subsequently cited to appear in court. Critchfield was cited for possession and cultivation of marijuana and Euber was cited for possession only.

Investigating the complaints was a long process, Harris said.

"We have to gather evidence to establish probable cause," he said. "As a result of making these arrests and conducting subsequent interviews with people involved and other witnesses, the investigation either continued to branch off in another direction or the information served to solidify what we already know."

Maybe they should try cleaning their own house first instead of busting people for a little pot.

Wyatt Earp is right this tyoe of stuff goes back along way.In 1975 7 out of 8 officers( or something like that) were terminated and I think prosecuted for being involved in burglaries while on duty and the Sherif's Dept. had to take over for a while until new officers and a Chief were hired. If I recall correctly Ziggy and Paco were pretty much straight shooters..The beat goes on...

if you look closely you will also find ex- town attorney R M is also a crook who has already been cited twice by the Vermont disciplinary counsel, and is still in business hurting clients. This is just more proof there may not be ONE honest lawyer, judge, cop in the whole state of Vermont. How can there be any sort of real justice in this third world state GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN !!!

If there is one honest judge in the whole state of Vermont I personally challenge them to create a link for honest citizens to help put crooked lawyers out of business !!!

you ought to be ashamed of yourself!

Attempting to tarnish someone's good name for the sake of adding to a message board is childish and uncalled for...get some facts....and take your own suggestion and try to be a little honest!

You know, I am sick and tired of reading stupid petty comments from ignorant people who do not know what the heck they are talking about. First and foremost....the reporter....isn't any police officer, whether it is a sargent, chief, patrol officer have to go through an oral board process? This process is a panel of 5 or 6 townspeople most times to include an officer from the current police department. Because I have gone through this process, I know it is never one person's decision about hiring a person. It is a joint effort. So Mr. Reporter, you should first get that right and stop trying to walk on people that you don't like! The problem lies with the bad reporter and then the idiots that believe everything they read and then right nasty crap in here in order to make themselves feel good. What about family members. Do you not think that husbands, wives, sons and daughters are not affected by your crude untruths? Children do not like seeing their parents brought down by other people who do not know exactly what they are talking about. Get your facts straight before posting on this or any other article! Shame on all of you. You are MEAN! JUST MEAN!

Here is how it goes in the USA, if somebody is part of a group of people and somebody in the group does something bad it reflects on the whole group so why get bent out of shape about it when only stupid people will think every priest, trucker, cop, black, lawyer and you name it is just like the few idiots who make the news. A few bad apples ruin the reputation of everyone in a group, that is the way it is.

If you know everything why ask? seems the public knows a lot. So keep it to yourself and wonder why nothing gets done. We are not mindreaders. I understand there maybe cops you don't like or trust. hey me too. But there has to be one that you do and you can go to that one. Listen its not BFs fault. The village is not right and I understand why. neither is ANY PD. Thing is we all need to work together. Come out of hiding and help us. By the way we all hated Dunfee and are glad he is going to jail. Yes officers from this department started that process and we are happy it is over. A black eye, yes. Hopeless NOPE. You can always stop in and voice your opinion or leave a tip on the tips line. Cases take awhile sometimes years. This sucks no doubt. Again be part of the solution and stop being part of the problem. I get paid either way, but let us make a better village. It will take time.

BF resident: Nice you can tell everyone about this now, why did you not open your mouth when it was going on ? Maybe because your facts are not quite accurate ? I grew up in Bellows Falls and the town has had it's share of misfit officers, but not all, I am wondering how you know the "Ice agent" (which by the way is not his position) slept with his step daughter? were you there? Or was this simply something you heard on the street ? I am no fan of this officer, think he was shady from day 1, but to drag his family, innocent people into is pretty low....Maybe the best thing you could do is go back and light some more fires in Boston, I am sure your cell mate misses you, Oh right, you were innocent there to.
