Did anyone qualify for the flex fuel credit and have you heard anything from it? Did they tell you how long it would take?

They wouldn't give it to my boyfriend when he filed his taxes. Now he has to file an amendment! Not sure how long it's gonna take! Hope soon. It's a nice chunk and I want my engagement ring!

I didn't find out about it until after I filed. Paid H&R to do an amended star return and re-filed. I'm getting back an extra $3900. Pretty much you get back what you paid into state income taxes up to $7500. I had a Chevy flex fuel truck. I am not sure about qualifying if you bought out of state.

However, I read in Wednesday's paper that Tomblin is changing the credit to include ONLY vehicles who run completely on bio fuels or alternative fuels. Therefore the flex fuel/E85 vehicles won't qualify for the 2013 tax year. 2012 will still be eligible.

I qualified on mine but haven't received it yet. I'm also curious how long it will take to process.

Does the vehicle have to have flex fuel, or can it meet a mpg threshold? My new car doesn't say flex but it does get great mpg. I see suburbans with flex fuel tags on them and I guarantee they don't get good mileage.

Our truck gets awesome gas mileage compared to the gas sucking dodge we traded in. It's a 4x4 Chevy extended cab. I surely miss the dodges luxury package. Lol. But the payment and gas mileage is not!

It has to be Flex Fuel or run off another alternative fuel. Google "WV AFTC-1" and you'll get some information. I think it was a little bit of a joke too. The E85 vehicles (85% Ethanol-based fuel) get worse MPG when ran on E85 plus there's no stations that carry it around here!

I got the tax credit X2. In 2012 I bought a 2012 F150 and a 2013 ford focus. I had to do an amended when I went to H&R Block they said something about the legislature repealing it but free I researched it I saw that the legislature was checking into future years and had nothing to do with 2012 tax year. So I went back a week after I filed my taxes and had them amend it. They did, with the tax credit u have to turn it in via a paper return which takes longer. I sent ur Feb 15. The scanned it in the system Feb 19 and I called them this week about ur. They said that what takes so long to get everything is they have to verify everything with the DMV and we all know how slow the DMV is. They told me that it has to be over within 90 days cause if the tax department has it long than 90 day they have to start paying interest back to the person getting the refund. Hope this information helps.

I received my flex fuel tax credit a few weeks ago.i talked to the state tax department several times on the issue and they are checking everyone's vin#,name, and address with the DMV. They also said it depended on when you filed your taxes and they will go in order they received your taxes. Also they stated that the DMV would be only to verify a certain number of vins a day due to workforce shortage but I can say I received mine a few weeks ago. Hopefully yours will be coming soon!!

flex fuel would be a lot cheaper if they used sugar cane instead of corn but the corn lobby went crazy.it much cheaper to produce ethanol from sugar cane then corn
