AT&T's equipment is/was suppose to have already been built on the first tower up off of Spring Fork along with nTelos/Sprint. nTelos had there stuff up and running at the beginning of this year, while AT&T had an initial completion date by June or July. Someone told me around that time a few months ago that they were down off the main road on the church lot piecing together some equipment to haul up there... so, no one with AT&T has service yet?

The signal from the tower should reach all the way up to about Bays Drive, so if you're further up than that and have nTelos, Sprint, or AT&T, you will most likely not get a signal.

Hopefully some providers will come to an agreement by next year to build on the new one for you folks further up.

Nothing on the second tower build, but I have some news for AT&T customers on the Spring Fork Tower... The original plan to build on the tower and have the signal up and running by mid Summer got pushed back. However, they do still plan to do a build. They are now in the process of installing their equipment and should have the signal up and running near or around Dec. 1st.

Not sure. They have a site picked out and are ready to build, but no one is interested in installing their equipment on it right now. They're still holding that money back to build the tower should someone be ready to install their equipment.

BTW, AT&T has had their equipment installed for about a week and a half to two weeks now, so those who receive a signal from them should have a signal now or within the week.

I'm not sure. That's what a friend was telling me as well. They might have gotten behind a little with all that nasty weather a couple of weeks ago. The equipment is there on the tower. It's just a matter of getting it all hooked up and connected. Elliott (AEP contractors) has been doing some work up Spring Fork recently as well... probably putting in taller poles so fiber can be added to the poles up to the tower. I haven't been all the way up, but when nTelos went in last year, the were just running it off a generator until AEP's work could be done and I doubt they have had fiber fed to the tower yet as the terrain is/was rough and it would've been really expensive run underground. That could be setting AT&T back a little as well... since it's a new build, 4G will already be installed and they need fiber ran to it to make sure they have enough bandwidth for/to their customers.

Ntelos only uses phones without a sim card don't they?. Will other companies on the pole also be without sim cards:. Does Verizon have the one called "at home and about with your phone" - you can hook home phone to a box and have another phone to hook on it to take out with you like a cell phone too with the box too I guess - so you don't miss calls. I heard of a deal, where you get two boxes though, one at home one to go - price of all $55.00? Way cheaper than home phone and cell phone which would be over $100 moonthly for both huh?

Still no AT&T service. Tower is worthless, guess I need to change cell provider. Anyone know what companies are using the tower.

I can see the tower located at Springfork from my house. If you guys want full service prior to AT&T installing their equipment buy a Micro-Cell from AT&T. You will have full cell & texting service. It works fabulously in rural areas. We've had one for years now...

Their antennas are definitely on the tower if you look... they have been for a few months now. For some reason, there is a hold up with them getting it lit as everything installed is new. They may or may not even have fiber fed to it just yet, so turning it on would be worthless with out having adequate bandwidth for data and LTE.

Thanks East Bank resident, I have the Micro-Cell it cost $20.00 a month for access for our two phones. Plus the initial cost. I have had it for a couple years. It is ok but unreliable at times. I see the tower from my kitchen window, only 1/4 mile away and can't use it dag nab it.

I have always thought of Campbells Creek as one of those places where the only way you'd move there is if you were sentenced to by a judge.

I guess it depends where you live up the Creek. I know people with very nice places that are very happy living there. You have trash/bad people everywhere...

True, you do have trash everywhere, but the "creeks" seem to be more concentrated with it, whether it's Campbell's, Kelly's, Georges, Cabin, Hughes, Paint, etc. Pretty much every creek in and around Charleston, all the way to the Gauley Bridge and Montgomery areas.

AT&T service is now active as of this week from the mouth of the creek all the way up to almost 5 mile.

I have FRAWG with intellos and it works only to Tad. It roams but ONLY TO ANOTHER NTELLOS tower with sim card. It shows towers on my phone with the roam sign and when I go to use it "states you don't have money in your account for this" So I suppose instead of a straight $35 for calls out and in - I could pay about $50 and get the works??
