I went to two of Generation Charleston's events bc they are always inviting young professionals to join. Both times they was rude, snobby to me and the other new people that was there. They say they do this and that within the community, but it's like High School. I didn't go to be ignored or made to feel like I was a stranger. Too bad, the group concept sounded fun:-/

I'm young/new and I had a wonderful time. You just have to be somewhat assertive. Just like in high school or the business world, if you act like a mouse you will be ignored.

Why u want fake friends anyway. They think their better than other ppl in the community. Not sure how u got into the room- their egos fill the room.

I can't speak for Generation Charleston. But this is a problem many groups in Charleston have. They invite newcomers and are so unfriendly they never come back and leave baffled. Then eventually the group withers and dies from lack of interest. It's the damnedest thing I've ever seen.
