Clean Coal Calamity

Hey boys and girls can you tell us more about that 'clean coal' you are always talking about?

I see a big fly ash spill into the waters of North Carolina and high levels heavy metals.

We saw some of those coal cleaning chemicals get lose at home too didn't we. I still wonder what happens to this chemical and other cleaning chemicals after use at the cleaning plants? Vaporize, burned on coal, shipped back out (recycled / destroyed), holding ponds - diluted then released into streams ...

Still wonder did DEP approve Frees stormwater permits (plans, container walls ...).

Still wondering why we couldn't figure out how to implement that proven Federal spill prevention guidelines after the Bayer and other spills? What was that =n we were told in 2011? At least we didn't have to have the State sue to stop the Feds on that one.

Did I hear Earl got a few big business buddies to go over what might be good rules on storage tanks? IF SO -- WOW.

"…Duke Energy said that up to 82,000 tons of wet coal ash had spilled out of one of its retired coal-plant sites into the Dan River. The cause? A broken storm pipe…."

"...New pollution control devices on power plants are exacerbating the problem. Jeff Stant of the Environmental Integrity Project says while these devices reduce air pollution, they increase the amount of waste.

"The more you try to control the emissions of a power plant, the more toxic the ash becomes and the more ash you generate…."

I saw her on TV today expressing her disappointment that the CDC won't just say that the water is safe. What's wrong with the CDC? Isn't it their job to come in and say that the mess is not a mess? Get with it CDC. Shelly is on to you:( Tell West Virginian's they are safe Now!
