basketball players who care enough to cry

Is this their desire to succeed? Should they just suck it up? If so how does a 11-14 yr old kid respond correctly? They can not curse the coach or refs, they can't throw things to show their upset. What does a child do when their doing their best and still lose? I'm sure that laughing at losing would be another issue...so what can they do? I say let it out...tears are not a weak thing. I'm not saying bawl for a week..just the tears that come down when their frustrated at losing. Specifically when they have dealt with one sided referees and had a game taken from them.
