Id say your a porch artist,, set at home and draw a check!!! i have worked in the coal buisness for yrs,, and been with the state for a retirement,, id say you live off everyone else,, and i have never had a bad word with anyone i have worked with in 22yrs,, this guy does everone like this, and has been there 1 yr... so just set back and get your free money,, that us tax payers give you,,
Actually i've worked and supported myself since I was a teenager. I've never drawn a single unemployment check and I don't draw government benefits. The difference between you and I is, for one, I know how to spell and I know proper grammar. Two, I know when i'm at work I need to act like a professional and not stoop to the level of others. Three, I'm smart enough to know when another employee is baiting me and not play into their game--I'm strong enough to control myself and not allow others to determine how I act. In other words, you did exactly what that moron wanted you to do. And obviously he's having a good laugh while you sit at home too dumb to see what's obvious to the rest of us. Then you make this guy look even better by trashing your supervisors on Topix like a teenager. By all means, continue to show your ignorance and this rookie will be rid of you once and for all!
Oh...and in my 17 years, I've managed to make it to the level of your supervisors. Perhaps if you used a little more brain than mouth, you would've been there too.

I can't help it that i didn't have the schooling i should have got the hi-price teacher didn't care if we made it or not!!!! And it's not so much of the guy that cuss me fault, of me getting suspended,, i told the supervisor's the workers should have got the raises before they did,, and that pissed them off,, cause i'm sick and tired of them treating alot of us d.o.h. worrkers like crap,, so i guess a person can't stand up for his or her self with out getting punished for it...

Mr DevilDog

Don't worry about this and just let it ride off your shoulders. Soon enough it'll be over and everything will be back to normal and all will be forgotten by most. I think it is good that you have stood up for yourself.

Keep your chin up and try and be the better man. I believe you are anyway.

I didn't have a high dollar education. I went to a rural public school right in this area. I had plenty of substandard teachers, but I assumed responsibility for my own education instead of blaming others. Everything I know about grammar I taught myself as an adult because I knew I needed to sound intelligent if I ever wanted to make something of myself. I didn't go to college. I was too busy paying rent from the age of 18. I've had no opportunities handed to me. I've worked for everything I've got, including my position. I didn't get my job on a piece of paper, I spent years PROVING I could do it.

If what you say is true, that's all the more reason you shouldn't give your supervisors a valid excuse to suspend you! You are cutting your own nose off to spite your face. None of these people have to do anything but hand you a rope. You're all too happy to go all redneck and hang yourself. You're not a man standing for anything. You're a puppet playing right into their hands. You need to stop blaming everyone for what they do and start taking charge of what you do! You can't control others, but you can control how you respond. Your response got you in this position and nothing else.

I'm betting right now you are too busy stewing to see passed that chip on your shoulder and realize I'm giving you some solid advice. Instead you'd rather spout brainless insults like a dribbling baboon than man up to your mistakes and be smarter next time. But no one is sitting at home but you. How's that working out for you?

I'm not going to say anything bad about what your saying,, i really shouldn't have worked that day anyway had to much to go on at home,, should have took the day off,, but wanted to work.. your right about some things you said,, but i do believe in standing up for myself... but thanks for the advice..

I believe in standing up for yourself too. Just be smart about it. The payoff may take a little longer, but it does come. Sooner or later, this guy's actions will catch up to him. Make sure you're there to see it.

Most are underpaid and poorly supervised. Some get a bad rap. They do a good job in a crisis and keep the roads cleared in winter.

I saw something somewhere that said "If you don't like your job, quit. Otherwise, shut up". I am going with the latter. I'm looking for another job. And when I find one, Im just going to stop going in and not say a word to anybody.

Here is a message to the abused DOH crews:
Clean the heck up after yourselves!
Stop leaving your messes strung all over our roadways.
You are flipping pigs and not above the laws.
