Get over yourself "pathetic" obviously you have never been addicted to opiates! And if youve NEVER been in someones shoes you have NO right to judge!! Unless you are the good lord you have NO right to judge anyhow!! This person was just asking for advice NOT looking for a "troll" to be a jerk on their forum! You have NO IDEA the path the good lord has asked this person to walk!! Have a nice day!!:))

You are a moron, I was speaking hypothetically!!!! I just ment the hard road they are facing! Not particularly being a drug addict!! Get over yourself ! This person needs help not someone being negative! I dont want to start a fight on here, I've been in this persons in this shoes and I know EXACTLY what they are going thru!! Not methadone but opiates! I'm just trying to provide any help I can!! I am currently clean and I praise God for the strength everyday to stay that way!!!:)

Thanks for the prayers. I'm doing good so far, but I haven't even got close to the hard part yet. I have underlying pain that caused me to start on this whole nightmare and I don't know how bad that's going to get. Anythings got to be better than the prison of dependence I'm in now though. I'm actually more worried about the anxiety part of withdrawal. Its like you can't breath and your hearts pumping so fast but one day at a time. I'm not there yet thank God.

Also do you have a good support system because you really need to have positive people around you. Try going to a NA meeting.

I know exactly what ur going thru, I promise!! Ive been clean 2 months and some of the symptoms are still there!! Nowhere near what they were though! Its a tough road though, just keep your had up buddy and know that it DOES & WILL get better, I promise!!:) Go thru your phone and delete every one of your "connects", thats the first step because the want if always going to be there! Like I said, I'm 2 months clean and still not a day goes by that I dont think about getting high! But I have an amazing support system, thats honestly the only thing that keeps me going strong, along with LOTS of prayers!! As for the anxiety, nerve pills help BUT ONLY IN MODERATION!!!! Because they are also addictive, do u would be trading one habit for another! I only took them when the anxiety got REALLY BAD! Idk if ur having trouble sleeping but my fiance and I really battled with sleepless nights! We used benadryl (which im sure ur familiar with) & melatonin (which is an all natural, over the counter sleep aid)! But I really advise getting a good dr to help u, just to watch over u and maybe perscribe some suboxone! U can ween off it rather quickly and it helps soooo much! The NA meetings are a good idea too because everyone there knows what ur going thru & they are amazing support!! Beware thoughsome ppl only go to NA meetings because its mandatory for their rehab! So they go to keep their suboxone and fund new "connects"! All NA meetings have an open door policy, and they have them everywhere and several different times a day to conform to ur schedule! Just google NA meetings in ur area! Again good luck, and ur in our thoughts and prayers!!!!

Thank you well educated. I'm doing fine for now but this process seems like its going to take forever. I wish I could go on a faster taper but everyone seems to think I'm already going to fast a 10mg a week. I'm just impatient to get clean and get it over.I haven't been myself in so long I don't even know who I am anymore. Well I'm rambling on now, sorry. Thanks again and any advice is appreciated. :)

Aren't there support groups, or forums specifically geared towards this nature of discussion, so that you don't have to deal with trolls?

You can't replace one pill with another and live Med. free. Just my experience. 12 step programs may help you cope with all of the changes that will take place in your life, to gain back control. Successfully making changes is a process, just like the slippery slope from being medicated to being dependent to being addicted. It all takes time. Best Wishes for success...One Day At A Time.

Really?!! Why come onto here being a jerk? Are you one of those people that enjoy thinking you know everything and get your jollies off by trying to make other people feel worse than you truly are?! This person is just asking for some advice! I'm sure you are no saint....everyone has skeletons in their closet, some are just better at keeping the door locked!!! This is a hard enough battle to be fought, without more negativity....ESPECIALLY from someone that has NEVER been there!! ;)
