I'm not 100% sure, but I think for liability reasons, they can't use the results for anything other than whether or not to hire you.
what do u think

Seriously, they need to report u to the board. You need to respect your profession and yourself more.

If I'm not mistaken, any failed drug test is reported to the board.

I sure hope it's reported to the board. I don't want to be in serious need of help and the person that I'm expecting to help me be jacked up on drugs. If you're going to be a druggie, please choose another profession.

really people someone who smokes a joint everyonce in a while is not a druggie, do i call u a drunk if u drink every once in a while, and anyone who would show up to work high doesnt need to be a nurse i agree, but what i do in my own home when i dont have to work is my own business, i just choose to do the one that stays in your system longer, doesnt mean im high right then just because it was found in my system!!!

I think weed is the least of anyone's worries . You have more people high on opiates than anything else .

I'm pretty sure that they cannot do anything with pre employment screens other than not offer you the job. If your employer tested you as positive you would probably have your license suspended and be forced to undergo drug alcohol counseling.

Some places will turn you down for a job others will
tell you to come back when you can pass the test.

No it's not reported to the WV Board.

Did you work as a nurse in another state?

Yeah, when I worked at MGH (eons ago lol) a nurse got
tested for a job and failed. They told her to come back
when she could pass and she did and got the job.
Same thing happened when I worked at Beverly Health Care
in Cedar Grove. That nurse also came back and passed and
was hired.
But when I worked at Mt. Olive as a correctional nurse a
woman came in and failed her test and they refused to hire
her. She went to CAMC a few weeks later and got a job
there.

Nurses who fail drug screens would make good prostitutes.

You don't have to smoke a lot of pot to
test positive. The THC can linger in your
system for 3 months or more.

I've always thought it should be medically
legal. Many patients could benefit from it.

But I don't think it will be long before it
is like alcohol. Government regulated.
It is safer than alcohol.
Not physically addictive and not dangerous
like alcohol and nicotine.

i agree and i have chronic pain from a MVA eight years ago, people want to judge me but it is weed every once and a while or get addicted to something like oxy which is so addicting that once ur hooked u never recover, not justifying anything but it does help with the pain and I have tore my stomach up taking ibuprophen all the time and tylenol just dont cut it, i could get a script for a narcotic but choose not to because i refuse to get addicted to that crap!

.

No problem.
I understand completely.
I have RA and I wish it
would help me but I tried
pot and alcohol when I was
in my late teens and early
20s. Alcohol makes me sick
every time and pot makes
me anxious and nervous. lol
But if it keeps you off of strong
narcotics then you should be
allowed to use it medically.
