I am wondering why this story was not covered by the media? A teacher at George Washington High School was arrested Saturday Morning for DUI and Driving on Suspended License. This tells me this is not her first driving incident. What type of people is Kanawha County School Board hiring, to teach our children? Jennifer Napier should not be allowed to teach at G.W. until she has completed a rehab program. These teachers need to remember that what they are doing even on their own time is magnified 100x more than a non-teaching person is, and that they are supposed to be setting examples for the children they are teaching! I am trying to teach my kids right and I certainly do not need a teacher corrupting that!

No teacher in Kanawha County or any of the other 55 counties in West Virginia smoke pot, so please stop spreading rumors that one does. Teachers DO NOT get high. They are not allowed to.

The newspapers don't see everything. They rely a lot of people to call and tell them what's happening. They have a special line just for that....call the City Desk and report it.

I hope you are being sarcastic. If not, your stupidity is oozing through your post! I got high with some of my teachers! On more than one occasion. Teachers are human. If they are not getting high in the classroom, promoting getting high, or driving students around while drunk, leave 'em alone! Now, if they get caught by the po-po's they are fair game!

Yes I was being sarcastic! I also have gotten high with teachers in the past and present. One teacher who has since retired and will remain nameless was a friend of mine and we would smoke pot and do cocaine quite often. And as silly as this may sound (he or she) was a driver education teacher. I swear it's true.

Go figure, a drivers education teacher getting higher than a rockstar.

Yes teachers are human and they have the same desires and habits as the rest of the masses.

Although. i'll have to add that I am against teachers or anyone for that matter to being drug tested. No matter what job.

Teachers have been rumored to smoke pot but the kids don't tell. It's out on the hill too but at middle school. The coaches are allowed to cop,a feel on female students and say inappropriate sexual comments as well but when it's on the Hill it's rarely dealt with but more like covered up. You haveno idea

I know what you are saying is 100% true! I graduated from there and have children that attend there now. When you have a R.O.T.C. teacher who can do what he wishes a Principal who thinks he is GOD and gets away with anything and everything and teachers who do whatever they do nothing with change! My daughter said Ms Napier came into the classroom yesterday and told her class that she would not be back because she had a bad weekend and ended up in the slammer. She was giggling about it all while gathering her things. I just don't understand!

I know that my daughter said during her class. Ms. Napier came into the classroom and stated she had a bad weekend and ended up in the slammer and she gathered up her belongings. So one would think that she was dismissed, but I havent read anything about her being fired.

She is a great person and loves teaching kids. She made a mistake and she fully understands the gravity of her mistake.

I use to give GW hell. Last year I transferred from SC to GW, we moved. I was really worried that I wouldn't fit in because of the things I've heard about the rich kids and the drugs. I can assure you with 100% certainty that SC has more drugs than GW. The kids at GW are way cooler and far their is far less bullying going on. GW don't have thugs running the school and bullying everyone. Don't get me wrong I have several friends at SC and I wish they could transfer too. It's really an awesome school.

It doesn't matter the school system is a joke anyway they drug test our kids if they drive to school or play sports, which is fine, but the teachers union still refuses to drug test teachers, and teachers are not held accountable for not teaching the material and low test scores. So teachers are not held to a higher standard than any other profession, most professions require drug testing and fire you if you don't do your job. So I say drink up, smoke a joint teachers you have no worries the union will protect you.

Poker Star I have been saying what you said for years now, but i'll take it another notch.

Teachers are overpaid and underworked and need to be drug tested regularly.

The reason teachers are not held accountable on so many fronts is that the State Legislature is so full of either teachers or spouses that teach, or someone close in the family that teaches and they don't want to rock the boat

Teachers are in it for the enormous time off and the freedom to know it's almost impossible to get fired

And NO DRUG TESTING!

One more time!

Teachers are overpaid and underworked and need to be drug tested
