Why does Quincy need a Tractor Supply? I can see putting one towards the Ripley area. Quincy doesn't have farm lands. People are stupid.

I'd rather it be a food chain.

I do like the Quincy addition of the new Little General Store/Arby's Restaurant. It must have intimidated McDonalds a bit being the only fast food place there for many years. I seen McDs employees out on Saturday holding signs stating they were giving away free pies to customers.

I am not a fan of Arby's but McDonalds in Quincy needs to do more than give away free pies. Actually I think McDonalds as a whole should try putting meat on their burgers!

WalMart, Magic Mart, hell, even Krogers sells all that shit.

Just another group of folks who have more sense than they do money.

I give it a year after opening before it tanks.

Do any of you realize how many small farms are up in the "hollers" around Quincy? There is a farm right there in the curve after Fas Chek in Malden who have cows and horses. The closest place for what they would need is Greens Feed in Charleston. I am sorry but Walmart and Magic Mart don't carry livestock products. If I lived up Witcher Creek and had a few farm animals I would rather drive to Quincy than all the way into Charleston to save on gas. Plus around 35 more people in our area will have jobs. Oh, and in case you haven't heard. Golden Corral is suppose to be coming to that area as well.

Dickinson (the people who own the only farm around here that you mentioned) are the ONLY people who own/operate a farm around here. I don't see how that warrants a farm supply store, when Greens, in Charleston (it's not that far) sells all that stuff.

If you can't afford to go get the supplies for the animals, don't keep them. Pretty simple. Just more people spending more money than they have sense.

I still give it a year before it goes tits up, since Quincy isn't exactly farm country.

what the hell is wrong with you people? It is economic growth in the Upper Kanawha Valley! I guess we are so blessed with booming business that we don't need this? This store will make it and hopefully entice other businesses to join the growth effort.

Oh, you mean like that brand new, expensive gas station/shake shop/taco shop that was put in across from Shoney's on 60 something like 11 years ago, that was open for a month, and has been a vacant waste of space ever since?

You'll see.

What was the reason the gas station/shake shop/ taco shop closed after only one month in operation?

The owners did not have enough money for start up costs, went bankrupt & it tanked. Too bad, had potential.

The people that own Shoneys own it. They ask Tudors to come in the building at no cost. If they would have had places in there that people know would have been better. Say a Taco Bell.

I do like Arby's and The Golden Corral at Goff Mountain Road is far away - it will be nice but it will definitely hurt Shoney's all you can eat buffet for it includes good meat.

Dear god! Has it occured for you that some shoppers go there for other items? You probably never been in there! Yes it is pricey . It's just not farm equipment! My mother gets stuff for her garden there. My dad owns a farm . Some people do and shop there. No not in belle! I know several that owns farms an hour or two away. They get more food and stuff there... Where they have farms, there's no stores around.
