You most certainly DID SAY that!
On Monday YOU WROTE...
Jodi do you know what it is like to have a child tell their parents at 5 yrs old that "it is ok that they are dying and not to be sad that they will wait for them in Heaven but until then they will watch over them!!" I do and it is one of the most heartbreaking things you will ever hear[/QUOTE]

Where does this say my child or even a friend or family members child?? NO WHERE! I worked in Oncology years ago, I also said it takes a ery special person to work in that field! No where at all did I say I had any relation to any child who has said this, I have and did say however I have heard a child say that because it's true, it is also very heartbreaking! No I couldn't handle it because I couldn't disconnect myself emotionally while most ppl in the medical field can! To see any child sick even with a cold breaks my heart as no child deserves to suffer in any manner, but hearing those words come from a childs mouth is something you never forget, just thinking about it upsets me! Does it ever make you wonder how someone so small that knows their going to die can be so strong?? It does me and always will, I have more respect for those babies then anyone and my heart goes out to them! One more thing I pray to God I will never have to hear anyone in my family or friends say those words, cancer is evil and if I could have one wish it would be for it to be gone forever and to never to touch another person, however I can't do that, but there are numerous organizations that are working harder than ever for a cure and better treatment! Please understand just because someone has had a personal experience with something doesn't mean they had to be in their family or friends! Merry Christmas

The women's shelter in charleston needs donations. There is a lot of kids there!
We are going to donate the items we have purchased that might not be appropriate (age/sex wise) to the women's shelter. Jennifer has already suggested that. We have purchased things mostly for age 3+, and so far, not all, but a lot of it seems to be for girls. We are shopping as individuals with our own money and keeping each other updated as to what we have purchased as we go. However, we are still shopping and giving each other ideas for boys gifts and now trying to concentrate on some gift ideas for teenage girls and boys. We won't know the ages of the kids in the hospital or which sex they are until a couple days before the event. That will still give us time to make any additional purchases/adjustments to what we have. Again, if we have too many games, toys, stuffed animals, dolls, etc. than what we need at the hospital, we most certainly will offer those items to the women's shelter if they will accept them. Thanks for your suggestion and if you have ideas for teenage gifts, those suggestions would be welcome, too. Even those who can't or don't wish to be involved are still welcome to offer suggestions for gifts. The older kids are proving the most difficult, at least for me. My child is an adult and it's been many years since I needed to buy a teenager a gift! HELP! LOL
