I'm a journalist working on a story about the spouses of coal miners who have been laid off. Specifically, I'm looking for families who solely relied on their spouses income as a coal miner.

Basically, I'd like to ask you a few questions about the future. Are you planning to get a job now? What is your spouse doing to find a new job? Are you worried about replacing what has probably been a very nice paycheck from coal with possibly other type of work that doesn't earn as much?

If you would be willing to discuss, please send me an e-mail at tkuykendall@statejournal.com or reply to me here.

Thank you.
