I'm an injured , had surgery, brickstreet sent me to a IME prior to my surgery, the Dr. said there was nothing wrong with me. I need a lawyer. An honest, loyal to the client, lawyer. This corruption MUST be front page news everyday . WV workers need help.

Worker's comp has some of those quacks in its pocket. My daughter was told she could go back to work without restrictions when she can barely walk due to a back injury. Those so-called doctors give new meaning to the Hippocratic (hypocritic) Oath. They need to have some severe pain themselves and told they are able to work. One woman that worked for Comp told my daughter over the phone, "If you're breathing you can work". Best wishes to that bitch, too.

May I ask the name of the IME who said there was nothing wrong with you? I'm just wondering if it's the same one my daughter saw. Anyone else have the same problem with these so-called independent medical examiners?

Dr. Sethi was the DR. that said nothing was wrong with me. I had surgery a week later, he had no idea I was seeing a dr. which was consulting with other drs . Then thru on brickstreet for an auth #..... after Sethi filed his report. Corruption is what it is.

Brickstreet is as bad as Travelers; Travelers sent my daughter to a quack who actually had the nerve to smirk at her. She was sent back to work and is in so much pain she can barely function at home. She can't work. Does anyone know if she can re-file?

I have been dealing with workers comp for years, its bad enough that you have to live in chronic pain and then have to deal with a bunch of liars, and thiefs.I have an attorney but I constantly have to deal with them on a personal basis if I want to keep receiving medical care. You really have to fight for whats right, but most importantly is finding a doctor who knows what is wrong , who is caring and who will fight honestly for you. It may take along time to find that doctor , i know it was a long rough trail for me.Doctor after doctor most of them will not fight against the new privatized insurance company, now adays doctors wont even accept wc, very seldomly.Because they know it is nothing but a paper trail mess.I have been trying to locate injured workers who have seen an IME doc in the montgomery area , who have lost their benefits after seeing this certain doc. If you know of anyone, have them post there story here, I beleive I can help them win , with the information, I have now gained regaurding these so called doctors.

Wc can NOT change your doctor you have the right to choose who your treating doctor is, all you have to do is send a certified letter to wc stating that he is your treating doctor, they can not do this to you, by the way I had a repettitive injury to right shoulder, had ac joint resection , before surgery mri showed rotato cuff tear, dsurgeon did surgery said it was not torn, 6 months later another mri still torn, years later more mris still torn, i do not reccomend the shoulder surgery i had , they removed part of the collar bone bc bones were rubbing together, years later, still chronic pain still fighting to keep medical benefits and medicine paid for. its constantly a battle with wc but i wont give up, i cant afford to, so hang in there and dont let any Ime doctors push you around and never volunteer info, its none of there business, they lie any way so it does not matter , they just use your truth to twist and lie for the insurance company. They always try to controll the appt. dont let them be very short with words, take witness and video camera every time you have to see an ime.good luck. you will always live in pain from this , it is a serious problem.

I blame the lawyer for the people not getting justice from W.C and the judge. From my experiment I believe lawyer are brought off. I had cancer in 1985 and have not work a day since then and have been award 20%. work in toxic chemcial 12years.cancer,heart attack, blood clot lost of bowel conrol bad disc nerves damage lost of short term menory some lost of balance.
INC magazine state blame lawyers for 47%of fraud 26% state goverment,16% employees. So you are always at a disadvance.

I sustained a slip and fall injury back in July. My claims adjustor has done nothing but strung me along for months now. They have denied an mri so I'm not even positive whats wrong. I think it's a disc herniation...anyway they offered me a setlement of 5,000 today. Don't know what to do. I wonder if it's worth getting a lawyer. I spoke to one today who seems to think i could get more money, but I am unsure. What if I get nothing. My claims adjustor said I can get an IME but it is likely that they will rule 0....so tired of this.

Can u sue Brickstreet ? My doctors says I'm in the shape I'm in because they wouldn't let me get the treatment I needed at first. They kept sending me to doctors trying to get them to send me back to work. I have had numerous back surgeries and have permenant nerve damage now.

Can't blame brickstreet for you trying to milk the system and get paid for a minor injury.

Get back to work & stop causing everybody's work comp rates to increase.

Mark Hunt advertises in the Kanahwa County area for INJURED clients business.

Lawyers first have a consult with you, if they don't believe they can get a certain amount of money from the case THEY WILL NOT TAKE IT. They are a business and have to pay expenses and workers too.

Brickstreet knew this and even moved a lot of claimant dr's to their payrolls as ATT's for the employers. It's like this. Employers don't want ther premiums to go up, so they hope the worker loses - the insurance company makes more millions when they deny the workers and the attorneys make more money fighting for the BIG MEN and the Doctors make more money putting injure people back to work if they are IME's as they get paid better - If other dr's hope to be on their list (Brickstreet as IME's- they will lean toward the big guy too)

Brickstreet took a tax free loan from old wc in which workers paid into it prior and now are multimillonares - as they saved millions just in paying off the LOAN..

The working man who gets hurt and can't get their checks coming have to apply for food stamps and emergency assistance with their utility bills and call the banks and see if they can just pay interest until something is changed. Give up some EXTRA PHONES, EXTRA CABLE, sell their boats or RV's - anything to survive and keep a home.

BUT now with the fed shutown - it's obvious all federal workers are put in the POLITICAL FORMULA to get paid by the house and senate - injured workers somehow must get their senators to push push push when they can about the plight of the injured working people.

Based on your statements, it is evident you know nothing about WC or Brickstreet. Workers paid into? No they didn't. Employers pay into it.

Brickstreet Insurance has been nothing less than a Godsend for West Virginia. They are caring and compassionate, yet at the same time very smart, and know how to weed out the scam artists.

Only God knows how many people scammed the old Workers Comp system when it was run by the state and how much money was swindled, but now it's a whole new ballgame thanks to Brickstreet Insurance and their employees
