See, this is why you are driving a '95 chevy. Perhaps if you didn't have to shell out so much in TAXES, you just might be driving a nice, new car. Just sayin'.

Tell ya what. When Riverside High gets rid of Steve ** and or stops him from forcing religion on the students on a daily basis (separation of church and state), I might vote yes for the levy. I am not against religion but I am against my tax dollars paying this guys salary to violate the rights of the students.
That is just one of a thousand mis-uses of tax dollars in Kanawha County schools.
Don't force kids to deal with fewer learning resources because there are a few Jesus freaks. Education reduces delusion. Educate our kids, and there'll be less Jesus freaks to gum up the works.

there will come a day you will meet the God that from reading your profile you think is only a fairytail. Then it will be too late and you will have a big ol " oops" and pay the ultimate price of being lost forever. Anyway im sure i will get a snide reply but enjoy it while you can because the day is coming when " your time is up".

How do you know? Are you privy to some knowledge the majority of the world is not? Most people aren't Christians.

There is only one thing that is a fact in regards to religion - ANYONE who claims they know what happens after death is LYING. Period. And the lies are usually for money, and they're always aimed at the ignorant or exceptionally vulnerable.

I only know what happens after death is what the word of God says. Its called the bible. You are right on one point and that is most of the world isnt christian and that is why the bible says most folks will be lost. Wide is the gate to destruction and many will find it but narrow is the gate to salvation and few will find it.

<quoted text>I hope you are right but dont be shocked if it passes. These clowns are singing gloom and doom about "the children" and most times that is enough. I would check the " hell no" box if there was one. More money and continued lower test scores compared with the rest of the country. Whats wrong with this picture and anyway kids hardly go to school five days a week anymore. Its a day off here and there and when it is its always on a friday and or monday as to have a long weekend. Send your kids to private school if possible. The public schools are failures.
The levy got blown away in defeat by a 3-1 margin or 76%. YES. Now school people live within your means. A levy will NEVER pass again. Its a great day.

The men in tents that wrote the bible and thought the world was flat and that sea monsters were a legitimate boating hazard DIDN'T KNOW what happens after death either. The gay man who re-wrote it also didn't know. Do you believe in talking snakes and virgin births too?

Nobody knows if there is a higher power and nobody knows what happens after you die. Preach that - it's the truth. The arrogant and ridiculous notion that you know something that most people don't - without having the slightest possibility of proving it - is why more and more people think religion is a mindless delusion that seriously damages society. The fact that it takes peoples' money confirms it.

JOY!! JOY!! JOY!!

As another stated yesterday, "This is an extraordinary day!!

Yes, indeed it was.

First, WV Love leaves a voice mail message Saturday night playing "If I were the king of the world, I'd tell you what I'd do...Joy to the world...Joy to "You and Me!!"

And my first inclination was - this is a sign, an omen of something very good indeed...

Then the results came in and the news reports stated that it was a shocker. SHOCKER INDEED...

The good people of Charleston and Kanawha County stood up and spoke their mind stating...

NO NEW TAXES!!

And then I heard the Church Bells ringing Sunday morning - sounds of JOY!! Followed by a beautiful and extraordinary Day indeed.

God bless us all, those of us who cared enuf to vote and make a stand. God prosper and bless this city, Charleston, which I refer to as "Little Atlanta". And God bless all of Kanawha County and the state of West Virginia. Be richly rewarded for what is true, right, and correct.

Smiley faces to us all.

And a frownie face to charleston newspapers for trying to put a spin on the outcome of the vote in Sunday's paper. Spin-artists - sound like the folks in the WH.

“Me and You.”

Sorry for the incorrect phrasing above
Perhaps he will correct
SchoolMaster Bacon Hater
“You and Me”, he will per-fect.

So we learn our lessons
From The Great Master himself
He shares his book knowledge with us
Until we put him on the shelf.

He may get a little dusty
‘Cause that shelf won’t be swiffered soon
We’re too busy rejoicing, dancing and singing
A Victory Tune!!

I chose my “Battle” Bacon, and I WON!! Now, on to Washington to WIN the War!!

Yeah, you closed libraries and reduced resources children use to learn. A real win for the future of Kanawha County.

No, baconist, we just saved ourselves and the good people of Kanawha County from being taxed out the wazoo and going bankrupt.

There is so much waste and mismanagement in kanawha county schools! Duerring should be fired as should most of the lot up there. Teachers don't have supplies and textbooks, field trips to the capital cost a fortune, and the crede people don't give a crap about saving money or doing a good job. Stop paying outside companies to do jobs that have previously been done by district employees and stop buying way over priced technology. There is no way that not paying coaches in sports will save much money which means they will then go after assistant principals and make class sizes larger. None of which will do much. Fire duerring and the lot of them and hire great people with great ideas. Stop letting putnam county smoke kanawha schools!
