The Knight's Code of Chivalry was a moral system that stated all knights should protect others who can not protect themselves, such as widows, children, and elders. All knights needed to have the strength and skills to fight wars in the Middle Ages. Knights not only had to be strong but they were also extremely disciplined and were expected to use their power to protect the weak and defenseless. Knights vowed to be loyal, generous, and "noble bearing". Knights were required to tell the truth at all times and always respect the honour of women. Knights not only vowed to protect the weak but also vowed to guard the honor of all fellow knights. They always had to obey those who were placed in authority and were never allowed to refuse a challenge from an equal. Knights lived by honor and for glory. Knights were to fear God and maintain His Church. Knights always kept their faith and never turned their back on a foe. Knights despised pecuniary reward. They persevered to the end in any enterprise begun. Essentially, a chivalric knight is a Christian military soldier. "Certain law" stated a man must be a baptized Christian in order to become a knight.

Yes, Troy, there were many at one time, men and women, and I am one. And I am not alone, I live in a far and very strange land. But in many ways we are the same. We believe in something, so many don't these days. How to tell if you may be a knight:

Do you love your family?
Do you love your country?
Wil you defend the weak?
Do you fight for the truth and justice, and defend a friend unto death without quitting, ever?
As my late wife put it, "Honey, you are knight, get over it."

How to tell if you are not a knight:
A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that devises wicked plots,
Feet that are to run into mischief,
Deceitful witness that utterith lies,
Him that soweth discord among brethren.

These are not qualities of knights, for they show no respect for themselves or others.

Great performance on the Tyler Hollywood Show. Did you really cartwheel your kid over the fence? Or was that just a Fugue statement. If you did do it. Do you remember doing it?

The making of this knight: the dubbing.

I swore an oath to this country, to defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I was trained as an airborne paratrooper. I chose this standard because my father had carried it. On his, there was a red cross. Not that he could not take life; any man can. But he wanted to be the man that stood up in the mists of hell to save a life. He chose to do the hardest thing, and did so all of his working life. He told me that there was no greater faith than to go out the door when the green light comes on, for your country. I chose the 82nd airborne to serve with brave and honorable men. To be the tip of a very large and incredibly sharp spear. About fifteen days ago I found an old army file. In going through it I kept my shot records. I don't know why, and tossed the rest into the fire. What happened next would change my life, and maybe yours.
