Mom warned my son not to put anything in her basement of the house he rents from her on Flat Fork. He should know, he helped with the first flood in '97 and the second in '03. Its still just so hard to believe since mom & dad bought that land in 1972 and all ths elderly neighbors assured us that the flood had never touched the original farmhouse. Mom moved the front of the new house at least 16' back and uphill to give a bit more leewah when we began builing in 1977. Several low water bridges had been built above the house since it was built but biggest change? Woodrum lake. Any ideas?
