Why don't we have a Zoo and museums in Charleston?

It would be so great to have a zoo and museums in Charleston.

We don't have the local interest and tourism to support it. I wish we did. The poor Clay Center is lucky to still be open as it is.

We do have a zoo. It is located on the East and West side, just watch the local news.

A real zoo costs millions of dollars. We dont have the money or the demand. Museums? What about the Gay guys idea of a museum at the Culture Center? That's a joke any way you look at it.

There used to be a zoo, back in the 1960's, located between Winfield and Hurricane. It was called ....??.. Zological Park. I remember going there quite often as a child.
Anybody else remember this?
