Isn't kanawha state Forrest a county park? My girlfriend and I was run out of the camping part just sitting at a empty picnic table talking, and they told us if we wasn't paying the $20 per night we had to leave! Wasn't no reserve signs up or anything. It might not be co park but I thought it was
Well said

Welcome
Located just seven miles south of Charleston, West Virginia, Kanawha State Forest is in close proximity to the heavily populated Kanawha Valley and is a recreational haven. Some of the state's most popular picnic areas are here, along with significant hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing opportunities. A playground attracts families during the summer season and the fully equipped campground is one of the few in the Charleston area.

Camping at Kanawha State Forest is remote in nature given the proximity to the state’s capitol city. Sites cater to camper units of 26-feet or less, pop-up and tent camping. Campsite reservations are available from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends.

The 9,300-acre forest is noted among naturalists for its diverse wildflower and bird populations. Rich cove forest sites provide nesting habitat for 19 species of wood warblers, a feature which draws birders from as far away as Canada. The forest offers some of West Virginia’s best special hikes in winter, spring and ,,,,,, ok assholes, it's not a co park, but nowhere in this ad does it say you have to pay to use it unless you are staying overnight, if I had been in a reserved area I could understand it but I wasn't , just another greed thing of good ole Wva ?
And for the rest of you, you can go fk yourself!! Lmao

Kanawha STATE Forest - Just how do you think these areas are maintained? Do you think someone mows the grass, sets out garbage cans, clears the roads, maintan the trails, etc. for free? You must be a nonresident freeloader; native West Virginians know it taks hard work and money to maintain anything.

Well like I said before, it's just a money thing, for $$20 I could have stayed all night, and yes I did see reserve signs on a lot of the areas, but this one did not have one, lived in Wva all my live and it's shit like this that makes it stink, if someone had come along and wanted to use it I would have left, couple years ago at coonskin I was sitting with her talking and 3 car loads of people stopped and asked if I knew where there was any sites open, I told them no but the could have the one I was at, so I left. They even invited me to eat with them, but I didn't ,, that's way things are pose to work! Nowadays it's look out after number 1 and hell with everyone else!!

Once many years ago I sneaked into an empty hotel room. I planned on staying the night unless someone came by that actually rented the room. That never happened, but somehow I was discovered and the cops kicked me out. BASTARDS!

No Sir...expecting to GET something for nothing makes YOU the problem...Entitlement is killing this country...not just WV.
It's nothing about you being unjustly removed...How would someone KNOW you would be so willing to MOVE on, had someone asked you to? You sound like someone that doesn't understand an orderly means of having something available..

Yes you idiot, if they are reserved there is a sign on the shelter stating so, in fact there was one but it was for aug of last year , highly used place huh, all that was there was a picnic table! And I don't think sitting down on a picnic table that ( MY) taxes helped pay for is in anyway wrong, it's idiots like you that have no spine that is wrong with this country, but don't be sad, 90% of the people have no spine, they just let the government do anything they want, and you are not goin to win this argument, so just take you're spineless little or big ass somewhere else! Idiot

I love Kanawha State Forest. Never had a bad experience there. Why go there to sit on a picnic table in the campground? Why don't you for a hike up to an overlook, or get a mountain bike and do some cross country/downhill riding? There are so many better places to go than the dumpy little campground.

There is no argument...I am just stating the obvious...It is what it is. You didn't win anything, weren't you the one removed? Go stand in the middle of an Interstate that your taxes paid for.....You'll be removed there too, one way or another.... have a great day, the weather is GREAT for a picnic!
