Hope he keeps it up.

Dave Casebolt couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it.

Lies in this story:

1. There aren't many building inspections in Nitro anyway. Really Mayor - are we calling Hurricane every time someone digs footers, etc. in Nitro? What an idiot.

2. Casebolt said King is taking certification test in the next week or so to try and get full certification. Really Mayor - why no mention of the two failed attempts. You make it sound like he has never taken the tests.

3. Casebolt said if King doesn't get his certification that the city will be in the market for a new full-time building inspector. Really Mayor - sorry but in Nitro - thanks to Council and Craig Matthews the building inspector in Nitro must be a Captain in the Nitro Fire Department. So who is it going to be A.J. Shinn or Shawn Alderman? After all they are the only two captains left active in the department.

4. The city appealed the ruling of the State Fire Marhsall. Why Mayor - the law is clear, "Each jurisdiction employing or wishing to employ certified building code officials shall have adopted the State Building Code as promulgated by the State Fire Commission prior to issuance of certification. Each jurisdiction may employee one (1) building code official, code inspector or plans examiner upon demonstrating a deficiency of available, certified officials as a Provisional Official, Inspector or Plans Examiner for a period not to exceed two (2) years. Provisional certifications are not renewable."

Not Renewable Mayor. Why are you wasting tax dollars on something so clear.

Casebolt left to his own devices will bankrupt this city.

That would be the final death blow to the city.

Please don't.

The Nitro Building Inspector Ron King has come down to Poca and acted as an Inspector during this time.

Did he bring the Hurricane Inspector with him?

What in the world is going on?

The problem has not been addressed and taken care of.

Council was never made aware of this. He has been going to Poca and charging them for his services.

What involvement did this fail have to do with the State having to come in and shut down a project in Nitro?

Will there be any cost to the city over this failure?

What question we should be asking is has he been getting paid for this position this entire time? If he was, for what?

He is a Captain in the Nitro Fire Department. His salary is the same in either position.

But he should not still be in the position since in four years he has not passed the necessary tests to become certified.

But who else in the Nitro Fire Department would want to come over. The only other Captains are A.J. Shinn and Shawn Alderman. Neither would take it.

The terminology of certification and license is two complete pieces of paper. He can be certified all he wants but he must pass the state code official test to hold a license. Very few cities have a licensed code official including hurricane!

The problem has been addressed and in the process of being resolved. All you idiots have to do is pay attention.

This is not an issue anymore. Geez!

Mason the issue has not. He has been in the position for four years. The state gives a 2 year provisional certification. He has had two of those.

Failed the tests twice.

Maybe third time will be a charm.

So it is an issue.

If he fails the test then someone else who is qualified will take the test and if all goes well then that person is the man. In the meantime the Mayor has outsourced the position until then

Now I ask you where is the problem and again I ask how is this hurting you?

It hasn't worked out to well since the State had to come in and shut down a project.

It hurts me as a citizen and taxpayer when the liability of someone not qualified, certified, licensed whatever word you want to use fails and then lawyers get involved. I can see a suit against the city.

Which will cost me and every other taxpayer.

Once again Casebolt has failed on this since last September.

I mean John Young has already cost the taxpayers more than 100,000 in the Sexual Harassment suit filed by Sandy Saunders.

This one shouldn't have cost the city anything. But Casebolt trying to protect John Young from having a claim made against his bond cost the city the settlement.

How much is Dave and John going to cost the city in the next harassment suit.

That is just two suits. How many others are coming down the pike?

Go ahead and yawn. You were also yawning stating that Sandy Saunders would lose her suit.

She walked away with six figures in her pocket. That should have been against John Young's bonding company and not out of the taxpayers coffers.

When Casebolt was running for Mayor it was his campaign to get the building dept out of fire dept. he wanted and promised Sandy Saunders propert maintence position because she did a great job at it. Dave promised Jay Gibson the code official position. Casebolt agreed that Sandy should be paid the same amount as King when doing his job. John young went crazy said it will never happen. The city got in a pissing match with Sandy and Sandy won. Today it comes back around when Casebolt knew all long King was not qualified so did Young. Using it against Casto in his election. It's just dirty politics no matter what is best for the citizens of nitro! Young even agreed King was not worth the money being paid and continued to let King act in authority and did not get things done. Really people! The Track had begun and the city needed a commercial experienced code official! Instead of hiring Gibson councilman Matthews munlipates the city by placing the building dept under the fire dept this must have fireman as code official at the same rate of pay. Matthews stated king had two years to be licensed. Council Matthews pulled wool over council and Cast to provide King with position so that his buddy Elkins would be in position for Chief. That's the Truth. Now do you believe in your city officials???

You can believe in Casebolt and his band of fools.
