It's a neiborhood bar, lot of middle age regulars. Generally pretty friendly.

In the warmer months the patio is a good place to chill and have a few drinks.

There are stools all along the length of the bar, tables or booths everywhere else, 5-6 poker machines.

The Red Carpet, or the Rug as we call it, or the Carpet, or the Rouge Rug, is an old timey dive bar that despite the recent infestation of hipsters, has retained its genuineness. That is because the hipsters don't come out until later so the real adults and long time customers have the place until early night and late evening. As the night wears on, hipsters and LGBT mix with the adults and regulars who've been going there for 40 years. All races welcome too.

It's eclectic to say the least. There are gambling machines and a juke box and like the name suggests, it's carpeted red inside. They also have an outdoor smoking area replete with heating devices for cold nights. It's also fairly moderately priced. When you walk in, get ready for the gauntlet of regulars but they don't bother anyone.

It's a great place and it's one of the few genuine places left in town even though it's been infested by hipsters and East End pretentious artsy fartsey types. The real people still hold on.

The staff is surly though. Stand between the metal bars at the bar to be served. It's a waitress station but there are rarely waitresses.

I've spent many an evening in the Carpet over the past 30 years. Not so much now, but still from time to time.

Red Carpet if a rug is a filthy one. Never go there. Rude staff who stay drunk. Unprofessional and nasty.

Drugs everywhere and the neighborhood is as UNsafe as any on the westside. You may be semi safe on the inside, because of the amount of people, but once you leave to go to your car you need to be very careful. Also look out after you park, there are a lot of muggings in the east end. Terrible neighborhood. Not a good place to bring a lady friend.

I went in there two weeks ago and started talking to a chick who was as cute as can be. We went to my truck to get a little high and before you know it we were all over one another like our plane was going down. Had sex right on the parking lot beside the building.

After we finished we went back in and had a few more cocktails before going to my place for some alone time.

yep" the Red Carpet is alright in my book.

Great place to go where no one bothers you. I've been a "Red Carpet" patron for over 30 years and have never had any trouble in there or even seen a fight in there. Good drinks and great food on Thursdays in the Summer. ALL types of people go in there from 21 - 91 - an 18 year should really by law should not be in there. Have met some good men and some bad ones - but still a great place to go for a good drink.
