What?!?! Punish your child as you see fit, cold showers don't cause.physical harm, there is nothing wrong with that.... Besides, the cold water is better for your skin......

Besides that, while I was growing up, if i did wrong, I had to go out the tree and pick my own switch to receive my.punishment from, and I turned out alright, I think the problem with the kids now a days is that they aren't punished enough for doing wrong..

If cold showers are abuse then so is swimming in cold pools, rivers and lakes and playing in the snow for hours until your hands and feet are numb. Jesus

A parent who loves his Children will not bust his childs (Azz) A child has a right to protect him/her self, that child wil never for get that his/her parent busted his/her azz. If some one were to try and bust my azz, I know what I would do. There are parents who know how to discipline there children with our using violence and there are those who don't! You take a person that was mistreated when he/she was child, that person is going to be a parent with out proper knowledge to raise and discipline their children in a proper manner.

PAIN invokes nothing but Pain, and anger. I teach my children to be proactive thinkers to learn the consequence of poor decision making and how it trickles down to create problems for others.
Too many people want to take the immediate approach of Shock and Aww. That might gather their attention for thirty seconds......I would hope kids would need to think further than the potential physical PAIN of being wrong.....

Very well, for all four. Not only do they have self-respect, but they have respect for others. I am pleased to say all understand they are forunate, and what to find new ways to give back to thei communities.

When I go to community meetings and look around at the attendee's I am one of few under 65. Why is that? Why is it that Young people don't understand their place is in the decision making part of society? If constantly on the defensive, they can never be on the offensive, helping to make the decsion that are going to be affecting us SOONER than later....I want my kids to make the best decisions based upon the information they have at the time. That's all I can ask of them....

Well that's great, but to answer the question you asked,, the time out started back in the 70's 80's maybe, now before that the ole beat the azz was working good, look and the general population of jails today, it's people under 50. I'm maw n paw had beat there azz once in awhile instead of sitting them in time out lol, they might have ended up better! So you tell me why most of the ones at the meetings are over 65? Makes since to me

This "time Out" generation are the ones running around to therapists and blaming every little problem they have on their parents. They want the their parents to raise their kids because they can't emotionally handle it. Same with the veterans they are from the "time out" generation. They can't seem to handle real world stuff.

,, and yet another idiot,, and from Minnesota , there is a really big difference in assaulting your child than a good azz whipping, but for the ( time out generation) like you you was raised to be ignorant ant to blame all you're troubles on someone or something, must really suck to be you!

sigh! you missed the point too! My logig is spot on. I did not say a thing about not spanking a child, although I did say allot about "Busting Azzess by violent parents" go read again, then be quite if you have nothing positive to say. We too are Business owners but that has nothing to do with how a parent rears their children! This is about Child disciplining. Thank you

I see that you are a part of the pussification of America. When I grew up I along with everyone I grew up with got their ass busted. Funny that none of us ever thought of taking a gun to school or even being disrespecful of our teachers or parents. By the way I feel that I was loved and I respected my parents.
