Isn't it odd that there's no one on our local TV news medias who have a WV accent? Why are most of these news anchors, meteorologists from New York and other states? Does that not make any of you think? Why is it always 'them' and not us on our OWN news? There's many graduates from WVU and other colleges who are more than qualified to do it, so why isn't any of our people on any local news medias? Is it the same reason that most of the people who own small buisness' in Charleston are not from WV either? A lot of New Yorkers and other outsiders around here. Why is that?

Dumb? Many of us are educated. I would rather hear them instead of some New Yorker. Keep in mind that almost 70% of America is rural. It's all about to change. lol

This is the country where English accents and Aussie speakers are doing most of our commercials. Apparently we buy stuff sold to us by foreigners. Git er done just doesn't cut it anymore.

You can tell what reporters are from this area simply by the way they pronounce Kanawha and Hurricane....

WCHS has many local people including Kallie Cart who is from Buffalo, Leslie Rubin who is from Charleston, Katy Brown from South Charleston, Bob Aaron has covered Kanawha Valley news for more than 30 years. Brandon Stover is also from Sissonville. So if you want local people doing local news...there ya go!

But none of those people are 'country'. They're all a bunch of city yuppies, and I damn well guarantee you that the producers are not from here. Why isn't any of our news medias owned & controlled by West Virginians,-Instead of jewish people from New York?

EVERY WV newspaper, radio, and television station around need to be staffed with out-of-state reporters/journalist reporting the news in WV. Our courts, law enforcement, government are packed full of 'self-serving' corrupt individuals that keep the corruption going and make every effort to 'cover' and 'hide' the corrupt and illegal practices that are happening. Fair and honest reporting breaks up the 'good ole' boy mentality AND just maybe gets 'some' of the 'corruption' aired to the public. -- Who cares whether the reporter has a WV accent the 'key' issue is the 'content' that is being reported.

Rob Johnson is from Huntington, Bos's son. How more homegrown do you need?
Susan Nicholas is a graduate of Milton High School and Marshall.
How about Keith Morehouse, Huntington native?
Yes, there are locals on TV.
