In my opinion, the best restaraunt in downtown Charleston is the Bluegrass Kitchen on Washington Street. They serve a wide variety of what I would call "comfort" foods that are made with very fresh ingredients. That makes a difference in the way things taste for sure! From what I understand, a lot ot their ingredients are organic and grown in and around West Virginia. I'm not sure who the cooks are, but they definitely know what they are doing back there!

The service is OUTSTANDING too. I always ask for a young lady named Erica. I've eaten in restaraunts all over the world, but she is one of the best waitresses I've ever known. She is friendly and knowledgable and never fails to greet you with a smile on her face. If you haven't had a chance to eat there, make it a point. You won't be disappointed. I go there every time I'm in the Charleston for a convention or any other function.

Yes the Bluegrass Kitchen is a very nice place to eat and they have wondeful food. it's actually a good place for a first date.

here was mine

I picked her up early and we parked at the state capitol. I got out and opened her door for her and then I opened my trunk and pulled out a nice bag of peanuts. We walked the capital grounds on a beautiful saturday afternoon feeding the squirrels and holding hands

We finally strolled down to the Blugrass Kitchen and was treated as though we were special. The waitress was outstanding as well as the food. We then went to a movie and then I took her home. I fell in love with her that very night and I knew it. We have been married now for three years and are as happy as any couple in the world.

We still frequent the Bluegrass Kitchen and feed the squirrels. Oh" and by the way we are expecting a child in June.

So in my heart I know that the Bluegrass Kitchen played a key role in our happiness.

True Story.
