So our state shouldn't celebrate our accomplishments just so we can give a hand out? Really, WISDOM? Sounds to me like your name should be TOO LAZY TO WORK AND SUPPORT MYSELF, SO EVERYONE ELSE STOP YOUR TRADITIONS AND DO IT FOR ME.

Lmao you idiots will wake up one day, lets hope it's not to late! Go ahead and have fun at the party, don't think about the homeless, hungry, abused women& children, it don mater. It's not like that money just disappeared. It was spent at local businesses, caterers, on supplies, etc and on temporary employees such as extra security and cleanup....in other words, money that goes right back into our local economy! I'd rather see them spend money on an event the locals can enjoy that draws in crowds and income from across the state than give it to a few people who are probably already receiving benefits and may not even deserve it cause they are capable of working but choose not to or charity programs where most of the donations end up in the organizers' pockets anyhow. Let the hard working middle class enjoy the fruits of their labor for a change!

I'm sure it does help quite a few people. What about the vendors who will make money selling stuff to the large crowds who wouldn't be there if the state hadn't planned this event? Or the hired security and cleanup crews? I'd say the local hotels will see a boost in room rentals for the weekend and the taxis will probably be too busy to keep up. Visitors from all across the state, like myself when will be coming from 70 miles away, will be purchasing gas, food, and shopping while in the area. But I guess that's not as beneficial as giving some money to the homeless huh?

What the hell kind of "accomplishment" is being a state for 150 years? It's an anniversary of a signing of a piece of paper, it's not a f*cking "accomplishment".... Danny Jones is CONSTANTLY looking for reasons to close streets and spend money and have nothing to show for it at the end of the day.

WASTE of MONEY!!! Waste of MY tax money that *I* pay because *I* f*cking work. I have to work, while all the SPOILED state employees get to sit on their asses and enjoy a day of.

F*CK YOU!!! BITCH!!!

After reading your post, I'm starting to agree with you. That money should be spent on education, Not everyones, just yours. 300k might be enough to get you through a paragraph without butchering every aspect of spelling and punctuation. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one to hop on every comment I see with problems, but yours is....special. Wake up Murica!!![/QUOTE]Read these post" Now tell us "just how much money is being wasted on education"? Every body has an oportunity and a right to obtain a free education in the WV free public School systemt. I don't want to sound sarcastic, but WV is having it's 150 Th Birthday, you are part of it, be happy that it is surviving during these times. "Happy Birthday West Virginia".

Excuse me? Spoiled state employees? Sorry but we work hard if not harder than most of you! To beat it all its with below the usual pay scale out there for what we do! Sick and tired of hearing about state employees being spoiled! What we don't get in pay at least we can get a few days off to spend with our families!

Ever hear of the expression ( can't fix stupid)? That's way I feel about 90% of the people on here, 80% just want to stir up shit about people they don't even know, 10% are like you, as my dad always called em ( educated fools) that either don't realize what's goin on, or just don't want to admit it anyway, then there's me, the last 10% that can see from outside the box, but can't do anything because the other 90% won't stand with us! Let the government take away all our rights, it's fine, I'm sure I will be dead and gone before it happens , but what about our children? Anyway as the old sayin goes, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one! Fell free to make any grammar or spelin mistakes I made, that's all you care about anyway, idiot

YES, spoiled. How do you know how hard I work?? I am a WV resident, and while you were ENJOYING A DAY OFF just because you're a state employee (no other reason), I was working, so it looks like I work harder (and more) than you. State employees are pampered with paid days off just because. It's bullshit.

Why don't *I* as an employee in the same state deserve the same days off to spend with my family??? What makes you so f*cking special!? You get the same days off I do (federal holidays) AND "State holidays", which are BULLSHIT!!

Cry some more.

I think you're ALL spoiled little brats, and the more you get offended and cry about it, the move I'll believe it.

Hold the phone, "a few days off"? Does that mean your spoiled little asses got today off too?! You little twats don't even know how good you've got it.

Cry some more bitches, while the rest of the state is working, your spoiled asses are getting days off for no damned good reason. They should dock your pay for the dayS you get to have off. Why should my tax dollars pay you for sitting on your ass at home?!
