Not sure about this one...but I am pretty sure if you call your auto insurer and let them know you are expecting your premiums to be returned since you had no accidents last year...they'd hang up faster than you could say please....

Thats is why tax paying citizens need to make them accountable.
It is the Governor that needs to make them accountable, but who is going to make the Governor accountable?

The Governor doesn't have that kind of power.

Brickstreet was always about money - It was planned before Manchin even became Governor and instantly WC was set up to become private even getting an intrest free loan and yes the Insurance Commission knew all about it too.

They were to take several people from old WC legal but either denied them a job or fired them as soon as they could.

New systems don't want anybody from old system getting in their path. Most attorneys who used to always represent claimant's against the WC fund are now on payroll to represent employers on behalf of Brickstreet..

Having worked with auto insurance, I can tell you that's not the insurers fault. Every state is different when it comes to insurance law, but you are paying for services rendered. That's what insurance is, it's gonna be a gamble...

ABSOLUTELY! People need to understand that Insurance is intended to LIMIT YOUR RISK or to "limit your financial liability "of paying out the wazoo in the event of a loss. People used it for years as a means to finance their retirement. The old WComp system helped to ruin the business climate in this state simply with the general rule that the CLAIMANT would prevail in the event of a questionable loss. It was NEVER intended to be a system of FULL-WAGE REPLACEMENT. Thats what short term or long term disability insurance is for. Paying you forever is not the responsibility of the State of WV, because you may have been injured while working.

Yep! And the only reason our insurance is so high in this state is because WV's laws make it so easy to sue one another, and most usually it's people who are repeat suers... Again, people always looking for some sort of handout. Smh

The rates depend on how much has to be paid out, they have to get their money back somehow. People think I could go in the system and decrease rates.

Sorry..Insurance RULES are governed and established by the Peoples choice(s) the Legislators. They set the legal code The Insurance Commission among others things, regulates the Insurance Industry as a WHOLE, the Education and CEU's, Agent/Adjuster Qualifications, and approval of Producer applications, and the ratings and solvency of companies doing business here ie: The ability to pay out claims timely...) to name only a few duties.
