No. Daytime is semi-safe to park and eat but that's it in that area.

There is a Best Western that is about three blocks from the park. It maybe under another name because it has gone thru changes and renovations lately. It is close to Shrewsbury Street and Washington Street. In bigger cities this distance is a standard. It is also close to the Clay Center, a concert/museum venue. But, it is in a questionable part of town.

True but you have to be careful in that area still because there is 2 homeless shelters there near the hotel. There's still a chance of anyone in those 2 shelters being someone you wouldn't want to meet any time of the day. I know for a fact there are drunks, drug a users and even drug dealers that hang near the shelters. I just wouldn't take the chance of doing all that walking. Drive back and forth, I think it's much wiser and definitely a better chance for safety.

There's people in the men's shelter that have been released from prison also. You really need to think about using transportation rather than walking.

I am just from a larger Metro area. Homeless shelters, Street Dwellers....that's the "norm" in other cities. I must say, Taxi Service, is much cheaper here!

At times stupidity prevails - do you people think you live in Detroit? Simply answer the question, no there is not a hotel within 2 blocks of Laidley

Some people can and have stamina to walk further than "2 blocks".

Personally, I have the stamina to walk 2 miles and often do, but that isn't pertinent to the subject. Maybe "near" is the key word smart "---", why all the BS? As said, just answer the question.

Fairfield Inn and Best Western are about 1-1/2 miles away on Washington Street East, they are the closest
..the neighborhood is not THAT bad
Stay on Washington street - and it would be best not to walk alone, preferably in a group in the daylight, but that's true in most cities
