Sick of the Y

Once again youth sports at the Y comes through again with their stellar communication skills. Today kids show up for a sport and I guess some of them didn't the the email/phone call whatever. Every freaking time we sign a child up at the Y they pull this crap from cancelling practices/games and not telling people about it to going to swimming lessons where no teacher shows up. If you have kid in youth activities at the Y you have to stay on top of them. Maybe it's a good place for adults to workout but they SUCK at communicating for kids sports. If you drive a long way and deal with this crap they should refund your money.

No Issues Here

My son has played YMCA Youth Baskeball the last couple of years and we have never had any issues with miscommunication. William Seeden (who is the youth sports director) is in charge of the Youth Basketball and does a phenomenal job with that program. As for the swim program, I believe you need to speak with Erin Dydland (who is the aquatics director) to work out your discord with that particular program.

After translating the above, I get the feeling that a certain someone had a not so nice run in with the former director/president that left a bad taste in their mouth.

As for the turning the Charleston YMCA into a haven for the rich and neglecting the youth programs that is so far from the truth. I know for a fact that there are a lot of low income families that are members and that also have children in the summer and afterschool youth programs. My son attended the afterschool progam through the Connect Program (a program for low income) for 2 years.
