It was an apparent sucide. This breaks my heart. Everyone should hug their children a little tighter tonight, tell them how much they are loved and remind them to be kind to everyone. You never know what this little girl went thru or why she did it, but it should be a reminder to be nice and help someone if you see them going thru a hard time.

Oh how sad - I had no idea it was a suicide - poor little girl - if only she had realized that whatever it was - it would get better - you're so right - hug your kids ! The teen years are so hard - my heart goes out to her parents - and the rest of her family and friends - prayers to all
what a shame

Her name is amber Williamson. She was a freshman at south charleston high and was being bullied by people at the school. She put on twitter that she was leaving and loved everyone

good question - sad thing is - a lot of times - when they are bullied - they don't want their parents to tell the principal or teachers - because they are afraid the bullying will escalate - and sometimes the principal and teachers don't want to be bothered with the situation -(I'm not saying that is the case here - but I know it happens)- something MUST be done -this poor little girl obviously suffered great turmoil to have taken her life in such a horrific way
I have an idea

Why doesn't one of her friends post the manes of the bullies on here?

Lets reconize them for their actions!!

I live on Mcclung and came home that night to the police cars in front of my house and had the bad feeling something horrible had happened. I found out last night about Amber. May she be at peace, and for shame on all who feel they have the right to bully. Just wish that being so close there was something I could have done, has really touched and bothered me.

She was NOT bullied. She was just really depressed and she couldn't take it anymore.

I didn't know her but I know someone who was at the scene and was told why she commited this act. From what I know anyone who has a child who "likes or chooses " to be with the same sex, please just accept it. Wouldn't you rather have a gay child than a dead child? I know I would. May she rest in peace now.

I think the speculation of why this poor tortured soul took their life is horrible. It doesn't matter why, especially when strangers are giving their knowledge of nothing they truly are privy to. The family and those closest to her know so please quit speculating untruths. What matters most here is a family left behind in grief, heartache and their thoughts, feelings, etc. Pray for peace of mind for them as they will need it. Questions will never be fully answered and for that they will have to deal with -- the pain of a tragic loss will lessen but never go away. So I'm asking that you speculate to yourself and not put in such a public forum. Social media just adds fuel to the fire. Let this angel rest in peace and allow her memory to remain intact -- don't add to the pain of those left behind!
