Special needs children require specific care. I'm sure that it was explained to the family that the small private school didn't have the resources to provide the child the best possible learning environment. I would bet the there are also certain legal requirements that the school would have to conform with.

Try to use you brain more and your mouth less.

Watch what you do. Instead of raising tuition they have added a fee interim kindergarten classes instead of kindergarten classes so they can have 1 more year if your tuition.

We put 3 children through there. It was a sacrifice but worth every penny.

These are the years that they develope their morals, sense or right/wrong and respect for others (teachers, etc.). Without that foundation, when they get to middle and high school peer pressure will lead them to drugs and sex. If you teach those princilpes at home then this school will reinforce that message.

Or you can send them to public schools where those things are accepted as the norm. Just look at what is going on at GW right now.

It really comes down to this...Do you want your children held to high standards (academically and morally) or do you want to put them into a system that is designed to cater to low common thresholds.

You could always try it for a year and see for yourself.

I one thing that I question is...Why did you feel the need to ask if they were a cult? Is your mindset that organized religion is is the same as a cult?

I agree with you 100%, my parents paid for my two siblings and I to attend Christian school. I know it was a sacrifice for them financially, but we all received a good quality education based on Biblical principles which has helped us to become the successful adults we are today. I will state that there are pros and cons for attending Christian School, but the pros by far out weigh the cons.

I believe that it is better to send your Children to a Crappie public School where they will be taught to think as an indivual and enjoy the Freedoms of our Country, than to be Conditioned in a religious Cult School to believe in the Supernatural and Superstition. If you want your Children to be Brainwashed like a lot of Parents are, then send them to a religious Cult School.

Homeschool your kids. Solves the problem in a nutshell. Do it correctly and your kids will be ready for MIT by age 16.

Agreed, however (if what I just read on another thread here is true) if those doing the schooling are only required to have a 9th grade education, odds are around here that it won't be.

Sadly, I see people use homeschooling as a crutch, either because they are about to be charged with truancy and want to avoid court, or out of plain old laziness because they won't get up in the mornings. Literally. Just won't fucking get out of bed and make the kid go.

So sure, they'll have plenty of ambition to write that homeschool plan and follow a curriculum. I'm sure they'll stay right on top of THAT.
