It appears that Bob Evans is going the way of Shoneys. Corporate is now operating the chain, with few family members involved. As you recall, that was Shoney's downfall. The odd thing is that Bob Evans is now being controlled by two Blacks, one the CEO and the other Vice President. These people have never stepped foot on a farm until working for Bob Evans and they are bean counters. This means that the employees, customers, and personality of the old Bob Evans is out the window, The NEW Bob Evans consist of new sterile looking restaurants with no personality whatsoever. You don't even know when you're in a Bob Evans. Have you seen the new restaurant at the Bob Evans farm? HORRIBLE! Looks like a Dennys! So now it's all about scientific property management instead of a nice family style restaurant. Shoney's went down this very same road and never recovered to this very day. Why in the world Bob Evans is doing the same thing I'll never know.

Because that's like saying that two Black guys have been put in charge of a Scottish bagpipe band. The person in charge should have a personal history of what they're in control of, especially if it's a specialty like Bob Evans. You cant just grab someone off the street to lead. That's what Shoneys did and look what happened there. But in this case, we know Bob Evans is doomed from the start.

While it makes sense to have someone with a personal connection to the company they are running bob Evans is dead and I assume most folks affiliated with his original enterprise are either retired or dead also, hence finding someone outside the company is somewhat necessary in this case no?

From very successful family operated business to corporate industry: This has ruined more businesses than just about anything. There are many Bob Evans heirs, but apparently they dont want the responsibility. The least they could do is hire someone to lead the company with a background in farm life, family comfort food, and a keen knowledge in "the country way of life". This last part has always been a big part of Bob Evans success when it came to hiring waitstaff. The new restaurants are horrible due to the lack of history from this Black CEO, and the food and employees are leaving in droves. This isnt about political correctness. This is about common sense.

His background as a former long John silvers CEO would seem to be at odds with his current position in food service I would agree.
