As someone has already said, they were mudding and the car got stuck in the mud which covered the tailpipe and went all the way up to the windows.

Under normal circumstances, you would start to get sick from Carbon Monoxide before you passed out, but, the reports said they left a bar at 3am to go out to do it - so there's a very good chance they were allegedly extremely intoxicated when they got stuck. This would cause people to probably fall asleep or pass out w/o feeling nauseous first from the gas. So they passed out and went from there.

It's a sad story. Ultimately we are responsible for the decisions we make. Is MTV *partially* responsible for this? Enough to maybe where they should offer to pay for funeral expenses? My answer to that would be "yes", because while he was not paid a lot for the 1st season of this show, he still probably had a lot more money than he would have had without it, and that could have been the money used to get drunk with that night.

Fame and money (any amount) tossed in front of a 21 year old in a poor rural area usually DOES NOT mix well. Two other cast members of this show have learned this - and now, this. Let's hope the show is canned, lessons are learned by those who remain, and MTV goes back to music instead of this kind of "entertainment".

I agree with "the hills have eyes" MTV should go back to strictly music. Do away with the "reality" shows bc even though Shains personality was what it was REAL it is still scripted. people don't realize that they shoot the filming during a time period usually a month or more or less! MTV has it scripted then its edited and shown months or a year later. Then the fans and haters think they know everything about it. you don't! No one does accept the family and friends who were there before. Because every photo on fb the comments are insane. everyone keeps asking about cara and low and behold a photo surfaced today if him and a girl named Kansas who's not on the show! Let him RIP and no MTV isn'[email protected] fault fir the deaths it was a tragic incident.

<quoted text>Why put this out there when there family is already suffering? It was carbon monoxide poison anyway they probably took a nap to wait for morning and died while asleep completely unaware of the poisonous gas silently killing them. That's how it works it makes you groggy and eventually you cant wake up. Almost happened to me camping one year luckily I woke up and had nothing more than a bad headache. Anyway I don't think alcohol played much of a role and I certainly don't think anyone would have been charged. You sound like someone full of hate. Try having some compassion. You never know when you may need some yourself.

How do you know? I've went out to bars with friends and not drank so they could relax and not worry about driving. Maybe he was sober. Don't assume to know things its only gossip. We need to show some respect and compassion for the families of these men.
BUCKWILD is a damn disgrace to my state. The wrath of God has took control. Amen
Applying your logic, it was also the "wrath of God" that caused the Upper Big Branch mine explosion that killed 38 men 3 years ago, tomorrow, too then right? You fool!

Not one single person here knows if alcohol was even a factor in this until toxicology reports come back.

<quoted text>Did you spend your time and your energy praying for him while he was still living? Huh
I try my best to spend time and energy praying for ALL lost souls, so that would include anyone who doesn't know Christ right now - anyone LIVING that is. After their dead? Too late. They've lived their lives, they've made their choices, and now they will be rewarded or not in the next life. We are living in the last days. Even UNBELIEVERS sense this.

Look at the wars and rumors of wars. Look at the economy - the world economy NOT just the US economy. Look at the abundance of SIN and darkness that is taking over mankind. You say it's always been like this? That's nuts. No, it hasn't. Movies are DARK and EVIL. When was the last time you saw a good movie that WASN'T about vampires, zombies, serial killers, magic, sorcery or the "living dead"? They are FEW and FAR BETWEEN!

Look at the weather. The "tossing and roaring" of the seas. The earthquakes in diverse places. The complete shift of the seasons. The uncertainty and fear of the human race - rushing around trying to make sense of it all. I'm telling you, and you can listen or not, THESE ARE THE LAST DAYS! We are living in them. REPENT and be saved/baptized before it is too late.

What will it profit you if you gain the whole world and lose your soul?

Praying for someone's soul AFTER they are dead is a waste of time and energy. This young man should have been prayed for and counseled while he was still living. Then, and only then, would he have had the opportunity to repent and be saved. After death? Too late!

Some of you people say "haha, good riddance", then start talking about the wrath of god?? Seriously? The toxicology report DID come back, and he was NOT drunk. How about showing an OUNCE of compassion for the entire Gandee family, as well as the Meyer family..? This tragedy is about more than just Shaine, there were three lives lost that night, and no single person is to blame. Why do you think Carbon MONOXIDE is called "the invisible killer"??? Because you can't see or smell it. To the Gandee and Myers family- don't pay attention to what these idiots are saying, they don't know any better, apparently. My heart goes out to all who are mourning right now. God bless. Rest in PEACE.
