I find it very ridiculous that the South Ridge Chick Fil A offers a military discount only if you order your food inside and eat your food inside the restaurant. If you order in the drive thru you are not given the discount. I mean come on, if you have the discount on your register, just apply the discount regardless of weather you are in or outside the restaurant. When we are on duty in uniform, we only get a 30 minute lunch, which is not enough time to drive to your location and sit inside and eat. I'm sure you offer a Senior citizen discount in the drive thru, so why not the military discount? I personally will never be back at this location ever again. Thanks but no thanks to you half ass Military Support.

Thanks for your service.

Not to be argumentative, but no, they do not give senior discounts in the drive-thru either. Those are only dine-in discounts. Chick-Fil-A, like other restaurants, support these groups of folks in public, not in their vehicles. They like to entice you to come inside in uniform in order to get the discount so that other customers may see you and associate you with their business. Again, nothing against you, but it's like that almost everywhere. So, if you're boycotting Chick-Fil-A for that, you might as well boycott most of the fast food joints in the tri-state area.

"Oh look at me. im in the military and get a discount if i go inside but, im too lazy to go inside to get a discount. id rather bitch and complain about it. ". You have time to bitch and complain on the internet but not walk inside. You aint special. if you are an adult male you are supposed to serve your country. Suck it up. Stop being a complainer and get off your fat a$& and walk inside.

It also has to do with drinks. There is a high mark up on drinks. Alot of people get food from the drive-thru with no drinks, then take the food home were they have there own drinks. If they eat in then most of the time they order a drink. With the high mark-up it pays for the discount

All the more reason to boycott, I'm not going to be blackmailed into getting a discount since the discount they offer isn't a thank you for the Military Service we provide to this county it's all about making their business look good. I have found there are many other restaurants that offer discounts in the drive thru, so my money will go to them.

Offense will be intended in this post:

No, you haven't found "many" restaurants that offer discounts through the drive-thru. At least not in this state, unless things have changed in the last couple of days. Either way, it isn't blackmail. It's you scratching their back for scratching yours. You seem like the type of person who is looking for a freebie anyway. I would like to think that most people enter the Military for reasons other than all the free shit they get, but maybe that is a thing of the past. It's a shame. I have no problem with companies giving a discount for different causes (Military, Male/Female, Senior, etc), but there is a serious issue with people who bitch about not getting those discounts. It's like you're saying, "I'm better than the rest of you and I deserve a discount." The only reason Chick-Fil-A and other companies have a discount in the first place is because they support the Military and Seniors. It's like someone givin u a $10 bill, but you complain because you have to unfold it. Take what you get and shut up. No wonder so many people don't respect the Military anymore. Remember that you represent the whole when you bitch about stupid shit like this. You are not doing the Military proud today.

I think that this Chick-Fil-A has the best and most courteous staff, great food, and a great atmosphere. Regardless of what discounts they offer, religious view, or anything else for that matter, I will continue to be a happy customer of theirs!

Louda, I am better then you. You obviously haven't served one day in the military and don't know what it's like to make sacrifices. But thank God there are people like me willing to fight for the county that people like you do nothing for.

Really, I'm not asking for something for nothing, my point was if they offer the discount inside they should offer the discount in the drive thru. Or don't offer the discount at all.

Non-Rambo, your name suits you as I am guessing you have never served one day in the military. But yet you want to live here and do nothing for our country.

That is the only part about my job, I dislike, protecting the country for ingrates like you all.

First, soldier boy, you don't have a clue about me or sacrifices. You use words like "obviously" about topics that you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. You get on here bitching about a dollar or two and stating that you are better than people. You are better than no one. You are an embarrassment to the Military and the service it provides for this country. You are an embarrassment to the United States. You look like an idiot assuming shit about people that you've never met in your life. If my responses to your ignorant rant about chicken on here are enough for you to know that I don't have the "soldier mentality," then thank God that I don't. I don't want to be taught to get pissy about having to go inside a place to get a discount. Suck it up, whiner, and go inside to get your food. We pay for you to eat anyway. Spend the extra dollar to drive-thru. We pay for your taxes, your education, retirement, etc and you have the nerve to say that you are better than us. That's not the soldier mentality. That's a son of a bitch mentality. Screw you. You confirmed everything about what I stated about you.

And you just confirmed everything I stated about you. And I get to protect your right of freedom of speech because you are too much of a low life to do it yourself. So you're welcome, and in return assuming you even have a job and are not living off goverment assistance thank you for paying for my taxes, education, retirement, and bi weekly pay checks :-)

You would be right in assuming that I have a job. I've never lived off of anyone else. I've also never bitched about not getting a discount. It's sad to actually meet a soldier who thinks that he is better than the people he protects. It's especially bad since they teach the exact opposite on your job. It's sad that a soldier fights for people that he thinks are low lifes just because they chose a different life path than shooting people for a living. Personally, I was eliminated from consideration because of hereditary health reasons, but I suppose that reason isn't good enough for a soldier who thinks that he is better than anyone who isn't in the Military. I, like many other people who couldn't or chose not to serve, have other roles for our country that don't involve pretending to be better than everyone and acting a fool just because I didn't get a dollar off at the chicken shack, that wasn't even required to give me a discount in the first place. I, like many of the people you bitch about, have more class than you have shown in the last couple of days. We treat people the same regardless of their muscle tone, how many foreign people they've killed, where they work, the color of their skin, etc. I hope that one day you learn how to show the same respect and class to your fellow man. I hope that one day you realize how much of an ungrateful prick you look like on this thread.

Those that have no desire to serve in the military always have some sort of excuse as to why they can't serve. I see you are no different. But I forgot to include my health and dental insurance in my list of things you pay for also, so thanks again :-)

Again, you make an ass out of yourself. You haven't earned my respect, so why would I have any reason to lie to you about why I didn't serve? You're an idiot. Good thing you don't have to be intelligent to be a soldier.

It is amazing that all of this started out talking about a discount on this soldiers lunch. There is no one that would NOT accept a discount if it were offered, no matter of their occupation. If chic-fil-a does not offer a discount thru the drive-thru, that should be posted at the drive-thru. I also think that it is ironic that people are arguing against a soldier that defends our ability to get on here say what we want!! I, personally, want to say THANK YOU Military Member for what you do for me and my country!

I'm sorry if I offend you for being rude to a guy you called "pretty lame." I will not virtually kiss the shoes of someone who thinks that he is better than the rest of us just because he chose to go into the Military. He isn't your or my superior just because he carries a weapon. I have respect for most soldiers, but the ones who bitch about discounts and think that they deserve people to bow to them just because they served do not get my respect. At any point, there are about 3 Million people serving in the US Military. It doesn't make them Gods or kings. It makes them soldiers. I, like most people, thank them for their service, admire the courage it takes to put their lives on the line, and applaud companies that offer discounts and job placement for them when they return. I refuse to boycott a company just because one soldier doesn't want to go inside to get his food.

You don't get a free pass to be a jerk just because you are or were a soldier. It is a fact that the US owes these men and women a debt for their service. However, repayment of that debt does not include suspending our free speech rights when speaking to them. Also, Military discounts are a courtesy, not a right. Fast food places are not required to give them at all. Why not just appreciate what they do offer and stop bitching about what they don't. He acted like they dissed the Military just because he couldn't "have it his way."
