It is so scary - especially when wind blows and you smell gas and don't know where the break in a line is. If your bill doesn't go up, it may not be on your side of the meter - but gosh there are probably hundres or thousands of underground gas lines. I believe maps are supposed to show where they are before homes are built - HMM not sure. Anybody know?

Where my Dad lived in Clendenin, you could smell the gas. His gas would freeze in the winter and we'd have to call the gas company. The guy said there were leaks in the pipe line and to costly to fix. Dad's health is worth more than their pipeline.
An explosion waiting to happen.

It was just luck that the people at Sissonville was not at home. The ones in the path of the gas lines. Nothing is every done until someone is killed.

I'm with "haha", ANY pressurized, combustible substance is dangerous...y'all just don't pay any attention until it blows up in your face.

Odds are, if you live in a "residential area" with multiple utilities, you're living close to, if not right on top of a natural gas line. If you don't like living near gas lines, I suggest you move out in the sticks...but you won't have water, electric, cable, phone or internet either.

No gas is safe the company is not safe they don't care they say safety but the fact is have you seen there Right Of Way they don't even mow it anymore or some one being on call this would had been a lot worse if it happened after 4:00 pm the company won't let there employes drive there trucks home they said that it would be a calculated risk that they would save a lot of $$$$$$$$

Yes I know I work there and they don't want you talking about it either as far as driving trucks home they only let one person drive there truck home but could you try to handle this gas explosion on your own OMG PS this is for winter operation only and they should look at there maps book they don't up date them anymore we are still looking at maps from the 80 to 90 they said it cost to much to keep up with I don't care what they say about safety or there people it is about MONEY and BONUSES for the higher up and there not even from here there from Hoston Texas all yes this one a big one if you get called out to a leak you go by your self to try to fix a leak on your own they say SAFETY how could that be safe
