This place is NOT GOOD... really expensive.. I was not at all impressed. The man who served us bashed all the other local BBQ places and then his food sucked. Really dry.. not much flavor. He would not make me a veggie sampler. the veggies were 4.00 a peice so it would have been 12.00$$ for 4. He said that was reasonable!!! Then he tried to say that other lacals charged that much.. Momma Brown's veggies 6.95$ and worth it. I have lived in Mt P 43 years and this place will soon be closed. Rude and NOT GOOD. and the guy was not in the mood for feedback...

Don't waste your time or money. IF you must then go for the chicken as the pork is so ladden with the tough fat taht you will be throwing 1/2 your plate or sandwich away and this place is NOT cheap! And don't tell the owner anything negative, very arrogant and not about to listen to suggestions.

Rays BBQ on Coleman Blvd

Talk about arrogant... "Ray" is full of himself and big on knocking the competition and the meat is very fatty. Sides were good but what a jerk and the prices are very steep for what you are getting.

What does a guy who sold furniture know about making bbq? Yeah, exactly what you'd think.

I like Moneyhuns. If you like vinegar-based sauce, definitely try this place. I think it's a little expensive, though.

Rays BBQ....Hmmmmm sounds a little suspicious that someone with the same name as another BBQ joint the same area is bashing another BBQ restuarant. I thought Moneyhuns was great. The prices are on par with all others in the area. I would recomend the wings. They smoke them before they fry them.

Rays.......Wow! This guy managed to open a smoke house and knows nothing about the bussiness. It is very evident from his bashing of other places, to his lack of customer service.FOOD IS POOR AT BEST!!! should have stuck with furniture "SALES".

I don't know what all the fuss is about, but I LOVED Ray's BBQ. The spicy Mac and Cheese is tasty and unique. The large variety of sauces is incredible b/c all seem to be tasty ,but didn't care much for the spicier ones. All in all, i thought it was a great dining experience.

This past weekend was one of our regular visits to Charleston. After doing a quick search I came up with a list of BBQ places to try. I already knew of the regulars, but wanted to see if there were any small places not on the main drags. Drove all the way out to Moneyhun's only to find out IT'S ALREADY CLOSED UP!!! There was a sign up for "Palmetto Pit BBQ" that said it would be opening up soon. So much for that trip out to Cainhoy. Came back and headed to Melvin's...had no idea they were not open on Sundays! Strike two and we were about to starve...we were already at Melvin's (Mt.Pleasant) so we just stayed right there and at at the Whole Foods! Sad to say, THAT was the second best meal we ate on our three day mini-vacation. Monday rolled around and we decided late in the afternoon to try Mama Brown's...yep, closed on Mondays! I had a very good list going and ended up not eating a bit of BBQ on the trip! Oh well. We did eat at Nirlep on the way out of town...good as usual.
